Tough watches lately, with many incorrect responses, daily double blank stares, and triple stumpers

Yesterday’s board was hard… haven’t been a fan of the clue writing lately

True. There are specific examples that I don't remember from previous games but yesterday's movie mashup category was very poorly written and the Shakespeare category seemed way too hard

The movie mash-up category wasn't that hard but just wasn't clever at all. Just name two movies from one clue. Lame.
Shakespeare i did OK on, 3/5. Benefits of being at one time married to an actor who did a lot of Shakespeare.

But yeah tough stretch in terms of the quality of contestants right now.

Which reminds me, those triple answer clues in the masters tourney were friggin hard for me. I already struggle with Before & After but I always enjoy that category. Having triple linked responses gets tricky.

Yes pretty bad game, and they missed final Jeopardy again. No concept of how small 45sq ft is.

I'm a big geography nerd and had no idea on the American Geography final the other day. Didn't think the clue had enough information and you basically had to guess at something with a french name and hope to get lucky.

Most Americans don't think of ping pong as an Olympic sport, also thinking playing surface is something you must stand on.

So if your stumped, there are no other guesses close to 45sq ft.

For me it was easy because I watch the Olympics and love ping pong so I knew it was introduced in 1988 along with Tennis.

How Tym did on yesterday's show would be my worst nightmare if I ever went on the show. I'd just be happy if I didn't finish in the red

That's pretty savage but yeah, that's everyone's primary goal on Jeopardy is to not be in the negative. Even Ken Jennings said in a recent interview that that was his goal going into his first game.

Ben Chan's streak would been much longer if he was facing this competition...

For the first time that I can ever recall, I might have to take a break from this show. It's just pissing me off. Awful games for almost 2 weeks in a row.

How did none of the contestants get the Jackie Robinson $200 clue? Shame!

This would be a great time to be on the show then. I couldn’t beat top, or even second tier players, but you put me in there with some third stringers and I could do some damage. Maybe. If I got some favourable categories.

I used to think I was really good, just need to brush up on a few categories.

Then I started watching while using the j-scorer website.

Turns out I know a few categories and would likely be a 3rd tier player. IE: I often finish with a respectable score not a great one, but also recognize there is no one playing against me, no one to beat on the buzzer.

I'd also be terrified I'd get Mayim as host and be scored incorrect for not pronouncing the 'h' in John, or that I'd be wrong for saying "Massachusetts" and not "The Commonwealth of Massachusetts".

I didn't know such a thing as j-scorer existed, but I'm definitely going to try it. It says it doesn't work well on mobile though...is that the case? I don't want to pull out my computer for this. The ridicule from my kids when they see me "playing" along on my phone is going to be more than enough!

I use my laptop. My wife makes fun of me as I input the categories (it actually helps me as I tend to forget what the categories are, and the value which does affect how you answer the clues).

It worked fine on my mobile, but I use my laptop and I haven't gone back since starting using it. I'm not sure if it's actually fine or I didn't know the difference.

Today's episode is a good one to use J-Scorer on. I did REALLY well, answered the majority of questions, and got more than I'd like to admit incorrect. So a really good mix to test it.

This is a next week thing for me. I'm not watching this week, and maybe not until Ken is back. I'll see how it goes!
