I am pretty happy for Semyon Varlamov. I thought he was rather unceremoniously dumped by Colorado despite giving them some pretty solid years. Good for him for finding a home on the Island.

This has been a very Tampa Bay-esque game and obviously that doesn't favour the Islanders. It also makes it very entertaining to watch.

He does have two goals. Had an end to end rush in this game and plays in the last 5 minutes, looks dangerous rushing the puck. I don't think anyone should be taking him off waivers with that contract, no, but he's been more noticeable than you're suggesting.
