Will be interesting to see what Colorado does if they lose.
Will be the third straight season where they dominate in round 1, only to then collapse in round 2.

He didn't have trade protection. I believe his unwillingness to sign an extension took Calgary out of the running.

The Flames were in on Stone. They opted out when Stone declined to to talk to them about the extension for next year (unlike Vegas). So the Flames opted out since he was obviously going to be a rental only. Stone would not have been here this year no matter what.

Avs had it in the bag and decided to keep pinching the D and turning the puck over...still they had about a million chances. MAF was the first star
I still hope it goes 7, this is the best series in recent memory

Ah, that makes sense.
I just recalled some kind of no go, or a favouring of Vegas from Stone's camp.
Just wasn't interested in extending with the Flames. That's a shame.. Even brother Michael couldn't sway him.
I think he would've had a notable impact on the team.

This series should be the conference final. The NHL really needs to get rid of divisional play for the first two rounds and return to the 1 vs 8 format.
