This series is proving what we all thought. Cnnr Mcavi(Shout out for that gem!) is the most selfish me first player in hockey. He has no problem playing 28 mins and staying out for every PP second against the Senators in the regular season so he can get 5 or 6 mcpoints. Then he'll go home and likely listen on repeat to all the media pundits slobbering about him. The dude has won jack squat at all levels of hockey because he doesnt know how to be a good teammate let alone a leader.

One thing to go down two on the road to start, many have bounced back at home. But when you're the home ice team going down 0-2 I don't think the chances are as strong.

Remember that time the Oilers had Home Ice 'Advantage?'

Not to mention playing back to back on Sunday Monday.
This is a absolute hill for the Oilers to climb.

Tough for WPG to win 3 in a row but that would make me very happy.
Someone needs to bump Smith early, get him losing his mind.

I have faith because you can see confidence growing in the Jets to shut these pretenders down, and they started to get their legs offensively with much more dangerous opportunities than they generated in game one.
What would dismantle that is if McAvi snipes/sets up a couple very early in game 3. Will be key to keep things close to the vest and under control in that first period. Continue to dictate the style of game.

Remind me, again, which crappy team eliminated the Oil from the last playoffs? Oh! Yeah, a team that their fans whined "didn't belong". So, eliminated by a team that "didn't belong" last year...I guess that doesn't prove that the Oil are not good enough to beat teams that "don't belong?"
Now they are playing a team that "Does Belong." Clearly, the Oil are doomed, because, as has been pointed out, E=NG.

It was especially good because you guys technically made them miss the playoffs altogether. Solid for a retooling/rebuilding organization in the Hawks and an embarrassing blow to the grease's pride. It was just perfect really.

I don't want to curse this thing, but the uphill battle for the Oilers is going to be difficult. they have to win 4 out of 5 games with three of those games being with Winnipeg having the last change. As well the Oilers are facing a team that's just far deeper then their own.
There is a distinct difference between the regular season and the playoffs. In the regular season the planning against teams in minimal, because they'll play a team and then not see them for weeks. So coaches will install their system and then modify it slightly game to game in terms or matchups. The playoffs, the good coaches will heavily game plan, because they're facing a team night after night for 7 games at most. So how do you game plan for the Oilers, you take away their two best players because the rest aren't a big threat and won't beat you. Connor and Leon will beat you.
Lets be honest, right now Maurice is eating Tippett's lunch. Its not DT fault, he looks down the bench and he knows he has nothing, and his biggest night mare now, Ehler's comes back.
Connor is an excellent hockey player from a physical tools standpoint, he's fast, he can play at speed he can pass shoot and stickhandle. But he's also repetative, watch him through the regular season, he sticks to doing what works. the wide rush, the push to the net. But he doesn't do anything else, he can't adjust his game, and Maurice has taken away the games that work for Leon and Connor. If those two are successful they have to change their game. But I don't think they can because there's a lot of arrogance with those two.
Yesterdays game should have been a bigger blowout, the Jets had the better chances, the Oilers defense gave up a ton of 5 bell chances, and you can't do that game after game with a 39 year old goalie. Period.
If Its not over yet. But if the Jets at the very least split their two home games, I think its over. I don't think that Smith will have the gas in the tank, and he tends to have at least one brain fart game a series.
If the Oilers lose this they need to serious think about doing a proper rebuild this time. From forward positions 2 through 12 and their blueline from 2 to 6 is nothing great and they need to look at both goalie positions.
But of course none of this is Connors or Leon's fault, I mean they don't get paid by the Oilers for playoff games, so why do anything different.

If the Jets keep their tunnel vision focus on Mcdavid, they will win. Edmonton not deep enough.
Its been a dead series, so boring to watch compared to any of the other series to be honest.
Good for Winnipeg, now they just need to close this thing out back at home.

How great would it be for the Oilers season to be less than a week longer than the Flames season

Just hoping the Jets don't have a letdown at home now. No rabid fans to come home to either. Such a strange season which is especially amplified in the playoffs, at least in the North.

Draisaitl continues to be a d****e in interviews . Asked today about Hellebuyck and says ‘that’s on us, he’s not doing anything special, we need to make it harder”. Shut you out, didn’t he Leon? Just comes across in interviews as an arrogant p****.

No crowd might be a good thing. The Oilers, backs against the wall, might have drawn energy from a hostile crowd. Jets are dominating right now so let's keep all conditions exactly the same.
