If it was Trump that said it, it wouldn't have even raised an eyebrow because it wouldn't even register in the top million inaccurate things he said. The fact anyone is mentioning it at all is funny after everything they went through in the last 4 years.

And of course Fauci is going to defend himself here, and maybe starting from scratch is hyperbole, but they are starting from really really really far behind. His statement about starting from scratch isn't that far off.

Marjorie Taylor Greene drafting articles of impeachment on day one of a presidency has to be viewed as an act of bad faith for carrying out the duties of her office. When this is shot down, not if, she should be given an official reprimand for wasting the time of the house. I'd go so far as to apply censure as well given how baseless and inflammatory this is. The house has the power to do this, and they should. Absolutely no time for baseless facts anymore.

I'm ####ing sick of "Benghazi" and "her emails" and any other contrived attack the right has dreamed up going all the way back to Newt Gingrich. Punish people who bring up baseless claims with out fact or merit. Cut out the bull#### and let the government get to work. I don't know if anyone's noticed, but there's one or two things to take care of these days.

Fauci looks like a man who just got back from a month on a beach in Hawaii, the difference in his demeanor from just a few months ago is remarkable. I guess that's what happens when you suddenly have a boss who might actually listen to your expertise.

This faux outrage and conflict creation will go on for quite a while. We’re all so used to fighting about everything that stupid crap like arguing what “from scratch”means feels normal. I think people kind of misunderstood what I was trying to say and that's probably on me for not communicating it properly. What I meant was that I'm hoping that the same people who fact-checked Trump do the same for Biden so I don't have to sift through the garbage that right-wing hacks spit out to find reporting on when Biden is actually full of crap.

All in all I'm pretty happy with what Biden has done so far. There are a couple of things that concern me, particularly his SoS nominee already sabre-rattling with Venezuela, but it's been a better start than I expected.
