Either way, likely referring to Kassian.

I thought "f---ing Kass" too, but then my buddy said maybe it's "f---ing Kosk". Bring on Mike Smith!

I would consider walking from Athanasioa at that kind of dough. That 30 goal season looks like an outlier.

Oilers might have to walk away from Athanasiou which cost them 2x 2nd picks.

Yeah, I'm no fan either.
But if you hit the UFA market with less than $4m, do you get anything better?

If you don't re-sign Athanasiou, then I guess the plan would be to promote Cooper Marody and try to fill a hole in the roster with the $3-4m or so that you have in your pocket.
Or do you spend more than $2M on a goalie, and just run with the crappy horses that you've got?

If they fail to make the official playoffs this year, what does David Mconnor do? Request a trade, or proceed to believe the smoke, that upper management continues to blow up his Kass?

Its kinda hard to believe that the 2 recipients of the biggest NHL lottery gifts are both 1 game away from being in the 8 team lottery mix for yet another 1st overall.
Edmonton is the most undeserving of course but the situation still boggles my mind.

Edmonton being in the lottery is the worst case scenario for the NHL. Just the thought of them being able to pick up and destroy another promising player has got to be killing them. That being said, they are due for another rebuild.

Not sure why they bothered with announcing the first part of the lottery. This is just messing with people's minds now.

I am not kidding. I will laugh my ass off if the Oilers win the draft lottery—partly from crazed disbelief, and in part from a genuine dark-desire to see how it would all play out.
It is exactly how I reacted when I awoke that fateful morning five years ago to the news that the Oilers had won the McLottery. It has been an entertaining five years.

I'm not sure how the Oilers can add another elite forward and have any cap space to add anything else a team needs.

Can the Oilers afford to walk away? They spent TWO second round picks on Athanasiou.

Yeah. I have to admit that a part of me wants them to win the lottery and then continue to flounder after picking highly for 14 years.

Hawks hit like 3-4 posts and this game could’ve been over a lot sooner. Oilers are in deep ####. Can’t say I’m surprised, that defence is horror awful. Where did all of CP’s resident Oiler fans go?? Into the wind

Right. I was mildly interested in that player because of his speed, but the price paid by the Oilers was just stupid for a guy with a very limited track record.

Especially with the flat cap and if he hits his bonuses. You know he will because he will play with McDavid.
