I wonder. In that scenario they probably just don't make up any missed games and go on as normal, maybe change standings to be based off point percentage instead if there isn't an even number of games played

That would be extremely controversial...there would have to be something to allow the bubble teams to compete for a playoff spot
IF they do play tomorrow I suggest the Flames win

But I don't think the NHL is going to have anychoice, with the NBA suspended and MLB postponed, the NHL would look stupid to keep playing.
Just a question for you brainiacs, but if the NHL postpones/cancels, what is the lost revenue going to do to the Cap, are they going to have to do a revenue pro-rate?
|
I would suspect they would do something like freeze the cap, and have a large escrow the following season. It’s the only thing that makes sense.

The biggest question about all of this is: is this Janko's fault or Bennett's fault.

In order for the season to avoid cancellation, I figure they would have to start by early-mid May the latest. They could do an abbreviated closure to the regular season, or just determine the playoff teams off of point percentage. (Flames would be out then) If they do carry on, playoffs would have to be abbreviated also.
Shoot, they could go with a March Madness style where every team makes it, and they play best of 3's to get through series quickly.

I made a $20 bet with a coworker 2-3 weeks ago that there would be no playoffs this year. It’s not a bet that I’m going to hold him to if I end up being right (even though he is an Oilers fan)

If Jets win or get a point and they end the season tommorow and skip to playoffs, Canucks would be out.
Or would they take winning percentage? If they do winning percentage, would the Flames be out?

I doubt that they'd change the way that the standings are calculated to a winning percentage.

Smaller league but I just got an email from the NLL saying they will have an update tomorrow
I’m supposed to broadcast a game on Friday. At this point I’m not keen on that

But wouldn’t that be more fair as some teams have played more games?

Well let's hope they play games tomorrow so the Flames can get that P% up.
