Hanafin being a below avg defender would be more palatable if he provided any kind of actual offense.

Flames PP.

I think it would be wise to score here.

You must be referring to Chicago, because the Flames don't look like the better team through 2 periods.

Chicago has had it.
The flames have had a lot of perimeter shots. Four of six goals the Hawks scored were premium scoring chances that most goalies would have a tough time saving. Defensive acumen and structure is also part of the equation. Flames have failed miserably in that department tonight.

Lehner hasn't had to make that many elite saves.

Man. Hanifin hits the net there, it’s in.

The Hawks have more goals from passes below the goal line and one timed in than the Flames have dangerous chances.
Course I'm watching

Flames' defense needs some work too but the offense has had plenty of chances. Rittich probably wants 2 of his goals back. Should be tied or a one-goal game rn

Just a bad game, they happen. This is still a good team and they should be adding

Been that way with both Lehner and Crawford for many of the 'Hawk wins.

The first part of your statement is true. But the Flames have made so many inexcusable errors that end in our net. The team in front of the goalies is just not smart enough.

Need a big third period to go above .500 since the All Star break. Could either be a 4-5-1 team since the All Star break or a 5-4-1 team since the All Star break. Played some tough divisional rivals in that stretch (SJx2, LA, ANH, EDMx2, VAN) along with a few Central division games (NSH, ST.L, CHI).

Either way not exactly an easy stretch of hockey and the Flames should get close to a majority of the points available during those 10 games.

Next ten they get some non-Western Conference foes to balance out this tough Western Conference schedule they have faced since the break (Boston twice, Tampa Bay, Florida, Columbus, Detroit) along with some Western Conference cannon fodder (Vegas, Anaheim, Nashville, Arizona).

So the schedule balances out for the Flames and I think it is clear that they will only improve now that they got through the murders row they had to face since the All Star break.

They're ahead of the Chicago in pretty much every regular stat and advanced stat. Just not the one stat that matters.

I would be sending Tkachuk a message. Q would have skipped giving him a shift by now.

Probably a few. At least we haven't lost to Detroit three times, like that terrible Bruins team has
