Time for the Russians to hit the Russian gas. Starting to fade. Pretty sure they have a program to pump these kids up for these type of moments.

If you think the refs are biting, it’s almost a natural reaction to do it. Canada is really only playing to what the refs demonstrated early on.

Yeah, it depends on how the refs let the game go........call a dive early on or multiple times then teams would be more shy to embellish.

But when you snap your head back or fall down easily and can draw a penalty everyone starts doing it.

It's the playbook of the Sedins and Canucks circa 2011.

Take a lateral stick anywhere near your face and see if your instinctual response is any different.

I wish the refs called exaggeration penalties on both teams. It’s annoying to watch at a sport level.

The Russian goalie would be watching from the bleachers if that were the case.

It’s about timing. The snap back happened half a second after the contact. Hard not to call that an exaggeration.

Well stated.
A head snap if you floss with a stick is valid. A head snap if a glove hits your cheek or helmet or something is embarrassing.

Good game either way! Happy to see a it come down to the wire and not have one team run away with it.
