Weird goal. Rasmus with a slapper off of Miller's head and into the net. Too funny.

4-1. Parsons made a few nice saves but the Canucks break the goose egg.

Yeah, and the year before, they were talking about giving Elliott a long-term extension coming out of the preseason.

Of the new guys, really liked a lot of them tonight. Lucic was every bit as solid as I thought he’d be. DSP was very good. McDonald was noticeable. Even Rinaldo showed some speed and edge.

Talbot though, woof. Never really saw anything in him. Still not sure why the Flames brass decided to sign him and at that $$$ figure. I’ll give him a pass tonight because it’s the preseason, but those first 2 goals cannot go in at this level. He better figure it out quick because this team cannot have a repeat of first half Smith again.

Based entirely on one viewing:

I didn’t think much of DSP. Never really got his feet moving, and looked like a Chiasson-replacement filler, but with less effort.

Was impressed by Rinado’s speed, even if it had no impact. Would like to see him the AHL.

Talbot...awful. It will be a process with him though. You don’t instantly find your game after years in Shelbyville.

Lucic impressed. At the absolute minimum, he cared more about a pre-season game than Neal did about a playoff game. I think we’ll end up cheering this guy on for a reason.

Bennett-Backlund-Frolik were solid.

Gaudreau-Monahan-Zzzzzzzzzzz are still off enjoying their summers, which is cool - pre-season is pre-season.

Giordano looks like a beast on a mission.

Rasmus is our #2 as far as I'm concerned.

Brodie will be there to be babysat until the inevitable happens.

The 2nd goal was as bad as the 1st. Virtanen was short side and should have had no room. But Talbot was WAY off the post. I would have scored there.

Early pre-season though. And as say, he had to come in cold. And then pick his nose for another half a period.

The second goal he was way out of position. At the time of the release he should have essentially had the post sealed up but he was almost at the top of the crease still. It was a good shot but from that ankle there was a lot of net to look at.

Second shot I will agree was nice though. Could have played it more aggressively but I don't think anyone blames Talbot for that OT goal if the other two didn't go in

To be fair, the whole game was zzz. I was there.

Many of the Canucks had trouble making basic passes, Baerstchi with a few terrible passes up the middle.

Flames were lulled to sleep, certainly by end of second. It was too easy to get into the Canucks zone and too easy to clear it out of their own zone.

Any analysis or criticism of the players, and certainly the regulars, after 3 days of camp, is just looking for some thing to complain about. That includes Talbot.

Players that did notice that had some jump, for the little it is worth, Gio, DSP, Lucic, Bennett, Frolik.

yup... first two goals were bad. The third was a nice shot by Virtanen (though i think Brodie totally lost position).

its the preseason, but never like to see two gift goals in half a game of work... getting scored on happens. Giving free goals should not.

Haven’t watched all the games, but I like what I’ve seen from lucic. Much smarter than neal and plays within his limits. Dube electric again. Ruzicka good again. Zavgorodniy noticeable. Quine, I’m not sure what people see in him. Far too casual and weak in puck battles

Czarnik playing with a lot of confidence. Hope this carries over for the rest of camp.

Tkachuk was invisible tonight.

Not worried though, it’s only preseason.
