Backstroms become another huge piece of the puzzle this game. Probably had to shake the rust off in game #5 but now is back in the swing.
Gotta think the Bolts will have to come up with something special to win this series now.

I think this is what Gully was trying to implant on the Flames but failed. Just smart break outs with support within 6-10 feet to make easy small passes.

Also, anyone notice Orlov in this series is playing like Brodie did at his best before Gully?

Caps were in beast mode tonight. They man-handled Tampa. If they can play that way again they will make the final.
Even if Tampa manages to win the next one they're going to be seriously banged up from that game alone.

Caps are an impressive team. Playing a really aggressive physical game and just creating a ton of chances. Tampa has the pressure turned back on them now and I think the Caps can close this out.

You could see TB's players wanting to get the puck off their sticks just a little faster than usual. They were constantly expecting to get hit. And hit hard. Not just a bump but demolished.

Fantastic this is going to game 7. There's been some great intensity and hockey throughout all the playoffs.
Wouldn't it be sweet to see Ovi and company make it through to the finals. I've been hoping for a Vegas/Washington final since the first round. That would be a hell of a battle of skill, physicality, team dynamics, intelligence and fortune.

Tampa needed to win this game. Hard to imagine either of these teams is going to be able to handle the continuous onslaught from the Knights after coming off a seven game series in the conference finals. Even though the Knights series were all short their opposition looked beat down by the last game.

Yep, Orlov has been the breakthrough player of the playoffs in my books. Also really like Morrisey for the Jets. 26 and 23 years old, too early to give up on Sam just yet.
