Agree. Stone seems to be struggling on the PK.

Yeah Gio has been superb pretty much every game.
When we are trailing it feels like Gio and Tkachuk are the ones putting the team on their back. They make certain plays that ignite the rest of the team.

LMAO. If you think he's that bad he's going on waivers. So put your money where your mouth is - by what game will he be waived? Otherwise it's a one sided bet, it only works if Lazar plays terribly and is placed on waivers. What do I get if he plays well enough not to be sent?

Lazar has looked like poo tonight, but he looked good last night. I can call it like it is tonight but why are people talking about putting him on waivers?
He's one of the few players on this team with speed and size that can get in on a forecheck. He needs to get his ass out of his head tonight and start playing better in the 3rd.

Lazar needs AHL time to develop his game; as is he just isn't an NHLer. It's not a Bennett situation where a prolonged slump is making him underperform either - he has a career high 6 goals.
I would argue Freddie Hamilton is better than Lazar.

He ain't getting sent down. I'm pretty confident in that. Alpine isn't, though.

Collapse D as a strategy sucks.
Friend of mine that has had 3 sons drafted into the NHL just cringes at that structure. Reversing into your own blue line. As he says defend the red. Your own blue line is the second line to defend.
This current system just give up your own blue line. SMH.

Hamilton doesn't really do anything.
Lazar has high-end speed, hits, and brings energy. If he never regains the confidence offensively, he is still a good fourth liner.
Hamilton isn't

My mouth is saying he’s not going to be out on waivers as soon as he should (cant be sent down to AHL without that happening) because it makes Treliving look terrible. So I’m not betting on when he will be out on them, I’m willing to bet that whenever that happens, he’ll clear.
If Lazar was still on Ottawa, he’d be already be on waivers.
And yes, I think Lazar is terrible. I’ve said since day one, a second was ridiculous. He may have been worth a shot with a 4tb rounder, but a second was highway robbery by Ottawa. A rare mistake by our GM.

Hamilton is vey good at penalty killing, getting open for shots, and the gap in those other aspects you talk about (speed / size / physicality) with Lazar is not significant from what I have seen. But Gulutzan is extremely reluctant to allow Hamilton to play RW.
As far as center goes, Stajan is worlds ahead of either Hamllton or Lazar.

This is the thing that has frustrated me.
When Gulutzan was hired, he talked about tight gaps and defending both bluelines (music to my ears).
But watching the Flames, their gaps are too big defensively, and they rarely pinch on the offensive blueline.
Impossible to know whether it's coaching or the players just aren't executing. But I am still waiting for the 'defend both bluelines' gap control.
