No one would make fun of him if he did that. If he did, it would drive the hype engine into overdrive... if that were possible.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Took a little stroll down to HF post-Gaudreau signing for some reaction, and was promptly reminded of how utterly pinheaded and wasted off the Kool-Aid (/their own urine) Oilers fans are.

As an aside I also noticed that poster Weitz does have a head on his shoulders unlike most up there. But that's besides the point, as the few out there like him cannot redeem such a cesspool of idiocy and the complete lack of self-awareness of their holier-than-thou smug attitudes, despite having not received results to backup such behaviour.

Why I actually felt bad or sympathized with them in the past for their incompetently run organization is beyond me. They deserve to be the brunt of every joke in the realm of hockey, until the end of time. E=NG.

Rolled over to HFBoards Oilers for a minute. Don't I regret that.

It never went away. You just have to read it in Steve Armitage's voice, and you'll have perfect clarity.

I no longer feel empathy for most Oiler fans, because of their horse blinders and lack of self awareness. They make each poor season taste like sweet dew off a morning Rose. Each poor season feels like skiing in perfect powder. Like running on a nude beach with Katy Perry, heck even Katie Perry, her stunt double. Like ice cream with my favorite sprinkles. Like racing cars in the Grand Tour. Like tasting a $300 bottle of scotch. Like fighting Rocky in his prime because he's fictional and that's the only way I would win... Fictional win, just like the Oilers and their fans.

Lucic-McDavid-Eberle
Pouliot-RNH-Draisaitl
Maroon-Caggiula-Puljujarvi
Pitlick-Letestu-Kassian

Klefbom-Larsson
Sekera-Russell
Nurse-Davidson

Talbot

That is not a good looking lineup to me.
The first line should be ok because of McDavid, but Eberle is soft as poop and defensively stupid and Lucic had no chemistry and couldn't keep up to McDavid

RNH is the best part of that second line, but it looks very sloooooow. Pouliot is a part time player at best, and Draisaitl faded badly last year

That third line is just a mismatch of where do we put them. Maroon is ok but a slug. JP it sounds like isn't NHL ready, I'm aassuming they have to keep him up due to horrible organizational depth and the loss of Versteeg

The best part of that fourth line is Kassian, other then that its 2/3rds garbage and Kassian is more apt to sitting in the penalty box after pulling a homer simpson.

The blueline is improved but its still probably bottom 5 in the west at best.

Talbot will have to be heroic. Its hard to believe after a generation of rebuild that this is their end result, and if they have any injuries what they have coming up is no good.

An Oiler fan recently asked on another board if their rebuild is over, looking at their lineup, yes it is, and its a horrible result.

McDavid can't save this ship.

Chia, has done a horrible job in the trades department.

Its time to relegate the oiler.

Oilers never change.

Give away the worst #1 overall pick in recent memory. Fail to sign their PTO RW option. Move one of their franchise centres to RW. Play several rookies in roles they are probably not ready for.

It's like rinse and repeat. They just make the same mistakes over and over and over and over again.

After of the loss of Yak and Versteeg, they are now pretty much an injury away from disaster on the front end.

They already are a disaster. Lucic is gonna be in the wrong zone a lot. He'll be a 6 million cap hit ghost.

Lucky for them that the Oilers don't have an history with injury troubles.

Aren't the Oilers pretty much just an opening puck drop away from disaster?

McDavid, Nuge, Eberle all missed 20+ games last season. That's a crutch I wouldn't want to lean on going into this one.

I'm not sure it has fully dawned on Oiler fans just how many things have to go right for this season to amount to anything for them. All jokes aside.

The oilers are just a disaster waiting to get through this rough patch, Nolan Patrick will help them out nicely though.

And an injury away from a brand new excuse to explain the season's futility as a fluke and unlucky. Can't wait! Did you know Edmonton had the most man games lost in the league last year? We get reminded every few days on the Oilers forum.

I fully expect the Oilers to beat the Flames on Wednesday. Oilers fans will swarm to CP in drives spouting how great they are only to retreat to their own forum by the end of November to talk about the possibility of Nolan Patrick in their lineup.
