Pronger the hockey player, pronger the elbow swinger or Pronger the guy who stomps on people's legs with his skates on?

was there any comment from Gaudreau yesterday? Found it weird for him to storm off the ice like that.

Would there be "directions" given by sponsors to put McDavid and Matthews on the ice all the time?
This happens all the time in other sports

Totally. All the McDavid & Matthews hype is gross. Between Gaudreau and how fast they are, I can't help but pull for them. But all the super-hype on the last two first overall picks, way overplaying Matthews, and McLellan coaching the team in a typical Oilers style makes me kinda hate them too. I'm developing a real love/hate relationship with team N.A.

For all the McDavid hype, Nuge looks amazing. Might be the best forward on the team right now.
Watch, now they'll trade him out of Edmonton. "We have enough scoring C's."

Feel the same way. Kind of conflicted. I want to see McDavid and Matthews schooled, but I want Gaudreau to do well.

Yeah, it is just amazing how good he looks when is isn't playing for the Oilers and in their "system".
He has looked like one of the best players on the team and is one of only a few who can play solid defence.

Best C anyway.
I continue to have a difficult time believing that it actually is RNH. He looks fantastic. Will he be broken again 20 games into the season, or has his physical maturity finally overcome his being rushed to the NHL? Will be interesting

A cleaner Pronger, then. But his skating, the way he snaps the puck through the neutral zone, his size, the fact that he wears a double digit number for the Blues, he just resembles Pronger in so many ways.
I've never seen a player will teams through the playoffs quite like Chris Pronger. In the span of 5 years, he dragged three teams to the finals, included one coached by Craig MacTavish, and one backstopped by the tandem of Michael Leighton and Brian Boucher. He came back down from 0-3 with Boucher.
We lament what might have been if Darryl had managed to swing Joe Thornton to play with Iggy, but imagine if he'd been able to get Pronger - Kevin Lowe managed it, so I don't think it's as preposterous as it sounds. Even at the cost of either Reggie or Leopold, I think the combo of prime Iggy, prime Pronger and prime Kipper wins a Stanley cup by 2008.

Okay, I'll address this...
I dont think McLellan is 'mentally handicapped' nor would I agree that hes a 'low life scumbag' as it were, I have seen no evidence of any of those things.
Now your assertion (and I'm being generous there) that hes dumb? Now that one might have some basis in reality.
I certainly have never seen any indication that McLellan is anything special as a coach and, as far as evidence is concerned the team that he was summarily fired from immediately went to the Stanley Cup Finals and the single most glaring change in that team was that Ol' Todd there got hit in the ass by the door on his way out.

I imagine Gaudreau's comments went something along the lines of: "Damned stupid Oilers...damned idiot coach is No Good."
Or something along those lines.

If Todd keeps coaching this way, trying to put on a show for the locals and the Oiler fans in attendance, then this team will be eliminated earlier than it could be with the personnel on the bench. Time to be intellectually honest about who should be on the ice and who is performing.
I'd have the Nuge out there as often as McDavid. Probably the most responsible forward on the team. Enough beating the nearly dead horse of a line that's barely produced despite all the ice time its been gifted. 2 goals in 2 games. Whereas the rest of the team has contributed 5.

Gaudreau is still the better player on the ice all the time despite being overlooked to pump the tires of the Leafs and Oilers kids. I'm cool with that, because by the end of the tournament, Johnny will have shown to be better even when handed crap minutes. If they lose the tournament that way, then it's on the Oilers brass for preferential treatment. Besides, once the season finally gets rolling, who's going to have more steam left? McJesus or Gaudreau? I'd rather have a barely used at the world cup Johnny on the Flames than an all used up McJesus when its really going to count.

Playing that line all the time means you have a guy with basically a half year of playing and a guy with zero NHL games playing against the top lines of other teams. It's inevitable. Crosby, Bergeron and Marchand will eat that line alive (I think they eat any NAT line up but even moreso with those guys as opposed to the more defensive guys like RNH, Trochek, Mackinnon.
