With all this data you could conceivably write computer programs to track those stats uniformly in all rinks.

Uniformly recorded by a non biased machine so that human opinion doesn't vary rink to rink.

Not sure how everyone else feels, but I was not interested at all in this tournament 6 motnhs ago. Worried about it even. Worried about injuries, etc. Must be the lack of hockey but I find myself actually looking forward to this now.
Same here. I miss hockey.

This one of reasoning is so ridiculous.

Did you watch him in the playoffs at all this year?

I thought he was invisible after the second round.

Change that question to " have you ever watched him in the playoffs?"

Every year he has been the best forward on the team. I don't even have to check but I'll put my neck out there and say I'll bet his playoff ppg is right around a ppg or above, which is excellent.

It's Holtby's net for Canada right? With all due respect to Price, Holtby has been playing top notch without injury all year.

You're not wrong, but I can't imagine a scenario in which Price is sitting on the bench. Best goalie in the world, he's my starter 10 times out of 10.

Agreed on Price. In fact, I'm actually a little excited for the habs and their fans to see how Price and Weber can carry that team without the liabilities of Subban.

I think Price gets the start as well. Also, I thought Holtby wasn't at his absolute best in the Playoffs. Could have been a fatigue thing though.

I thought he was a monster in the playoffs. It just didn't come together for the Caps though.

Price may be healthy, but is he ready? In addition to being healthy, a guy needs to get some games in, or at the very least, go through a full training camp. The WC is a short tournament and if Price isn't in game mode yet, there's not enough time to iron out the wrinkles.

If I were Canada's head coach, I'd choose Holtby to start and see how he does.

I get what you're saying, but this isn't the Olympics, that falls in the middle of the season, and one guy hasn't played in weeks and the other is in top season form.
Holtby won't have played a game in 4 months, so to say he's more game ready than Price is kinda silly. In fact, my guess is Price is working out harder and more frequently to make sure he is 100% and prepared to start the season, while Holtby has taken some time over the summer to relax and unwind from a long season.
Both are gonna be ready to go for the start of the Tournament, and if Price is 100% healthy, he's the better of the two.

I don't get what the big deal is. Edmonton's been wearing their advertising for decades.

love the digital boards, took 10 years too long.

they have puck sensors but still can't determine if the puck crossed the line or not.

Shame. Jamie Benn's WC commercials were the best.
