Cleveland sits James and get blown out by Washington. Toronto's sitting Lowry, too, against Detroit today. A chance to draw to within 1 game back if they win.

Just another quick thought about this. I truly believe that the NBA's past and present have played into this Warriors team today. They're a great team, but they seem to have a chip on their shoulders when they play. Comments like "they were lucky" (Doc Rivers) and "that team wouldn't survive against our team" (a lot of NBA retirees) seems to have added fuel to the fire of this Warriors team and now they're on a all time great run.

Happy to see the team taking this measure. If the goal is to go multiple rounds in the playoffs, you're going to need to ensure Lowry has lots left in the tank when playoffs start. At the rate they are playing him and DeRozan, they are going to run both into the ground by the end of the season. Hopefully there is a well thought out plan to address this going forward.

Finally. This team has had a reputation for stupid for decades. A reputation they deserved. Now they actually went out and got defensive players this year for a coach who only knows how to coach defense. NOW they are actually going to rest players instead of having them exhausted come playoff time. Amazing.

Anthony Bennett will be getting waived and the Raptors will sign Jason Thompson for the remainder of the season. Hope Anthony saved that #1 pick money because he certainly doesn't have much time left in the NBA. Can't even really call him a mega bust because almost no one had him going in the top 5 in mocks ahead of that draft. Just an amazing reach is all.

Solid move, Thompson could occupy a similar depth role for us as Chuck Hayes did last year, I think.

Why couldn't he stick in the NBA? Not skilled enough? Lazy?

I think he paid his bonus back to Minnesota so he could sign with Toronto. I'm obviously not at practice to see what he's doing, but it's not like he was given any real chance in Toronto. I thought he looked pretty decent at the qualification tournament this summer. Not 1st overall good, but decent enough to have an NBA career.

He isn't really an NBA player. No defined position and more of a tweener. He would be better suited playing in China or Europe until he learns how to play. Cause he looks lost out there and can't make up for it with superior athleticism or great offense or defense. He should have stayed in school to polish his game but who could resist the cash. But he may only see these few years of it so hope he has enough of a brain to have saved it.

^That's a really good summation. But it's funny because a tweener like him is almost ideal in today's small ball NBA, where he could have played the 5 even, but with his skills would be a threat outside. A poor man's Draymond Green basically. Maybe he can put it together in a couple years, he's still only 23, but right now he needs a lot of work.

So based on this year only, I think Kyle is pretty much the third best PG in the league after Steph and Russ. Just having a sensational year and should get a top 5 MVP finish.

That's not good to be in the same category as the 76ers after last nights loss in Golden State...

@ESPNStatsInfo:
Thunder are now tied with the 76ers for most losses when entering the 4th quarter and leading this season. https://t.co/JS6WPOduFV

DeRozan had 24 consecutive free throws (would have been an NBA record), then missed his 25th attempt (on purpose?).

Yeah, he confirmed afterwards that Lowry told him to miss to make it harder for Portland to get a shot off. Neither realized that it would have been a record.

Though 24 consecutive free throws in one game is also a record, just not as cool a record as the best free-throw perfect game would have been.

How much more grief can one team take? Monty Williams wife, a part owner, and now Dion Waiters little brother.

Westbrook scored 25 points with 20 assists and 11 rebounds. He's the first player to have a game with 25 points, 20 assists and 10 rebounds since Magic Johnson in 1988-89. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the only players other than Westbrook and Johnson (who did it twice) to hit those marks are Hall of Famers Oscar Robertson (three times) and Isiah Thomas (one time).

Westbrook's 20 assists created 44 points for the Thunder. That is one point shy of the most points created by assists in a single game this season, done by bothChris Paul#and#John Wall.

He is the first player in Thunder/Sonics history to have 20 assists in a game since Nate McMillan in 1986-87. He is the only player in franchise history with 20 points and 20 assists in a game.

His 20 assists were more than the Pistons, Cavaliers and Suns had Wednesday night.

It's the 30th triple-double of Westbrook's career. He now has 11 triple-doubles this season, tied for the most in the NBA this season with#Draymond Green.

Steph Curry is the best shooter ever...but Russell Westbrook is a better player overall. If Durant leaves, I could see him making a run at averaging a triple double next year. He's pretty close this year with 7.6 rebounds per. Obviously this is the golden age of point guards in the NBA.
