PSA: You know in conversations how you can click to skip dialogue? If you use the right arrow key, instead of "yup" and "uh huh" your character will talk **** about the NPC. There are lines specifically for certain characters, they put detail into it.
Also, drugs and alcohol will change the way your character addresses people when you initiate conversation. It's amazing
Sorry to console players. I don't know the corresponding keys on your controllers.

Just picked it up for the PS4 today. How important is it to make both male and female faces?

Pretty sure your kid is generated based on the characters you make. Won't make a difference beyond that.

This is awesome. I'm gonna have to pump my dude full of Psycho before talking to someone to see what happens.

Each person assigned to food will grow 6 points worth of food. Most plants are 0.5 food, some are 1.0. So each farmer will grow 12 of the 0.5 food or 6 of the 1.0 food.
One quick tip - make a LOT of water with the industrial purifier. The excess will go into the workbench and you can collect it to resell. I get about 100 purified water a day, worth 12 caps each ($1200).

It's not often I replay the same game twice. I think you almost have to with Fallout 4. First run through so far seems to be how many things can I ###### up?

Solid, thanks!
On the topic of water, I'm assuming I don't have to do anything past building the pumps or purifiers? Like no collection tanks or duct work? I built my first water pump last night and noticed it says "pump water" if you stand in front of it. So I did. Spent the next 5 mins watching my dood pump water more or less expecting it to stop and say "done!" or something.

I think I'm gonna create a new character and use the unlimited SPECIAL glitch tonight. I won't play as that character yet, just get it ready now in case they patch the glitch. Ya know?

Thanks guys. That's exactly what I did. Half tempted to re-start, would have liked to change my initial build, and I was pumping every level up into the SPECIAL stats. Reverted back to right before I hit level 8, so not un-doable but frustrating.

Glad it helped! I was tempted to re-start as well but there is so much to learn in this game that I'd be re-starting every 10 hours or so.
I think the best idea is to hack your way through it the first time and then play the whole thing again. Pretty sure that's what I'll wind up doing.

That was kind of my plan. Don't know if I'll have the hours to pump into it a second time though.

Fallout 4
Just starting up for the first time now. #FalloutJitters
Those jitters quickly vanished in lieu of this massive install...

Anyone else find Dogmeat extremely disappointing? Weak attacks, low health, annoying whining. Terrible companion. I'm someone who likes to run with a companion, mainly because you unlock certain quests and perks, as well as learn their back stories. I find myself running with either Piper because she's awesome or MacCready for the Fallout 3 nostalgia.

So, as I can't get a PS4 anytime soon, I downloaded Wasteland 2 last night, and played it far too late. An excellent update, IMO, to Fallout 2.

Stand in front of the person you want to assign something to and enter workshop mode. Aim your crosshairs at them and select "command" then aim your crosshairs at whatever you want to assign them to and hit the "assign button"
So an issue I've run into that's really screwing up my ability to build settlements easily. I've never been a WASD guy, I alwasy re-assign movement keys to EADF. However, the default key for things like "place" in the workshop build menu does not change so when I'm trying to move around in workshop mode, I can't move forward. Any idea how to edit those keys? I can't even see where E is assigned in the control menu.

I've found him to be good when you're doing melee instead of range attacks. He chews at the arm of the enemy so you can get in close and clobber.

I've been enjoying the game quite a bit. I'm much more methodical than New Vegas, I'm taking it easy doing a lot of the clearing and electronic component missions, and generally not going South or East of Diamond City. As far as glitches go, just a few minor ones for me. Sometimes my Pipboy disappears, I have to save and load the game again to get it to go away. Also the companions sucks a bunch in their movement. They are either blocking me, walking out into baddies when I'm sneaking, etc. And just try and build your home in Diamond City with Dogmeat, he will continuesly move to where your mouse is while you are in the workshop. So you want to place that couch there? Nope, Dogmeat staring back at you

lol, had a feeling that would raise a few eyebrows. This goes alllll the way back to my Counterstrike days. EADF for me is (in order) is Forward, Stafe left, Back and strafe right. I used R for jump, W for crouch and Q for reload.
A quick look online shows a number of players are having an issue with this too, especially lefties. I may have to try to wrap my head around default bindings to have an easier time building.

EADF is the way and the truth, and those that disagree are deluded fools. FOOLS!
Picking up dead bodies when you are moving sucks, though. After decades of using the same keys, it's not easy to switch, so I hope Bethseda realizes that being able to map all the commands to whichever key you want is a patch priority.
