I have crazy Bautista mood swings on a day by day basis.

The hand clap - get this loser off our team now!

Crushes a moonshot tonight - man, I just love Joey Bats and how he admires his dingers!

Lawrie nearly killed someone in Boston in a freak accident. His bat shattered and hit a fan in the face. She is in critical condition.

First start all season that Sanchez didn't walk a batter. Until this start he had walked at least two guys in every start this year. He's also only given up more than 3 ER in one start this year which is damn good. If he gets the walks under control, he's going to be damn scary.

On that note, the starters overall have been tremendous over the last 5-6 trips around the rotation:

- Buerhle has given up 14 ER in his last 6 starts (44.1 IP). 21/8 K/BB.
- Sanchez has given up 13 ER in his last 6 starts (40.2 IP). 21/17 K/BB
- Hutchison has given up 11 ER in his last 5 starts (32 IP). 31/4 K/BB.
- Estrada has given up 14 ER in his last 5 starts (30 IP). 24/11 K/BB
- Dickey has continued to suck.

I realize it's a very simplistic way of looking at it but it's much improved from where they were in the first month of the season. Will be interesting to see if they can sustain their strong play as a unit.

Considering how terrible the pitching was at the beginning of the year, the fact they are only 4.5 games back of the division and 4 of the wild card is remarkable. If the Jays can string together a good winning streak, they could end up making up the ground they surrendered. I am hoping they can get to at least .500 by the end of the month.

I am somewhat similar but I think the Jays are a much better team with Jose Bautista rather than without.

I am loving this game/series so far with Houston, however Loup is about to pitch.

Awesome stuff. Hutch is looking strong, offence continues to just pile on runs and Reyes had 3 steals today which is amazing.

Some really promising stuff from the Jays and now only 3 games under .500!

The Jays have the 3rd best run differential in the majors and sit 3 games under .500.

They have a 90 run differential better then Boston and have 1 more run. It is really amazing.

They have an expected win differential that is 5th in the majors

Colabello walks it off and extends his hitting streak in the process. 2 run single for the tieing and winning runs after Reyes and Bautista swiped 3rd and 2nd.

The entire thing started with Kawasaki getting a pinch hit double and then an infield pop was dropped.
Colabello has been quite a find!

Wonderful game.

Colabello sounded so emotional in his post-game interview.

Was at the game today. Really fun game.

Lots people leaving after the 8th and I couldn't believe it since the heart of the order was coming up.

Great hit by Kawasaki (guy is clutch hit a walkoff hit last year when I was in Toronto too) that really energized the stadium and the rest was great.

The win against Scherzer a few days ago and tonights win I HOPE are indicative of a turnaround for this team that was on the wrong side of 1 run games for too long.

Colabello will regress a bit but Jose Bautista is heating up big time and Josh Donaldson is the best player the Jays have had in a long time.

Hitting is on, fielding is the usual, but starting pitching is hot now too. What happens when the Jays have to dip into the bullpen again?

This team looks good when they don't need the bullpen.

^^^
But needing the bullpen sort of goes in tandem with the starting pitching. The starters have been consistently giving quality starts lately which doesn't tax the bullpen like the 4-5 inning starts at the beginning of the season.

I guess the scenario we haven't seen as much of lately is the offence not hitting and the starting pitching doing a good job where you have a 2-2 game in the 7th inning. That is where the shaky bullpen may give away a few potential wins for sure.
