Is anyone going to Copa America next year? Pretty awesome chance to see guys like Messi and Neymar playing in meaningful games. It's tough figuring out which games to try to go to. My son would love to see some US games too. Would Messi play in all the group stage games, I wonder?
Bayern announce 4 contract extensions: Müller, Boateng and Martinez all until 2021, Alonso until 2017. I guess that's one way to distract everybody from the Pep rumours. Well played, Bayern.

its the 100th anniversary and it's a massive event they will go
they are doing this in mind with potentially making it official going forward every 4 years, it combines money (North America) with talent (South America)
Copa America I felt should include the entire north and southern American continents. The Gold Cup leaves something to be desired, to say the least.
While the Gold Cup is terrible, it is the cup competition for CONCACAF and I think autonomy is important. Nevertheless, the idea of a competition for all of the Americas is appealing. It would be even more enticing if Canada had a shot of hosting it.

Aw yiss! Come on Sepp, you cant make this stuff up!

Former FIFA president Sepp Blatter has insisted the 2022 World Cup vote was not fixed, saying: "You cannot buy a World Cup."
FIFA will elect Blatter's successor next week, by which point the outcome of his appeal may be known.
The Swiss said he believed that no matter what happens, he has no reason to fear the future.
"I am sure that there is justice in this world, and that I have committed nothing which goes to criminal law," Blatter said. "I have killed nobody, I have not robbed a bank, I have not taken any money from anywhere and I was even treating well all my ex-girlfriends. It's true. They defend me. One I was married to only for a few months and she is really defending me."
Not going to be huge news to most people here, but Marcel Koller signing a new contract with the Austrian team makes me extremely happy. He has had quite a few offers from the Bundesliga (e.g. from Mönchengladbach) and I feared he'd jump ship after the Euros ... it's fantastic for us that he stays on instead. Great coach and a huge reason for our recent success.
I was just taking a look at today's results and wondered how bad Cambodia must be. They lost 6-0 to Syria, a country in the midst of horrific civil war. It turns out Syria are actually quite good (or at least the other teams are bad) They're 2nd in their 5 team group, just 1 point behind Japan, and this was actually their 3rd 6-0 victory of the campaign.
