Everyone is playing like crap. Ortio is the only one who can maybe have any good feelings about how he played. Maybe.

I think even Ortio was weak tonight. But It's like playing 3 games in 2 nights. The AHL playoff schedule doesn't allow for enough rest if the game goes to double overtime. Lots of young players making young player mistakes after playing 7 periods of playoff hockey in 24 hours.

Yes.

After tonight it's 3 games in GR. It could (hoping not) be all over Wednesday night.

No excuses. The other team has to play the same amount of time, and look like a well oiled machine.

The Heat look like a bunch of high, dope-head delinquents that are rummaging around for something to eat, ie the puck. They are at least a half a step behind every single play tonight.

Hint. Watch the LA game. Ward and Co. are gone. Out worked. Out coached. Pack your bags. It really sucks because I thought we had the better team. Loads of talent and two way players just can't do it. Oh well. Just want development somehow.

Can Ward and start afresh. Burke probably feels the same at this point.

lol at some of the comments here tonight - one bad game and it's time to trash the organization, fire the coach, and question whether the prospects are any good.

some of you sound like babies

bad game - it happens. the question is: how will they respond?

Craig Conroy Interview (Pt 2)

Stockpile of Assets: Great to see stockpile of guys. Wotherspoon was great coming up to Calgary this year before injury. We have so many guys in the system and other teams are calling about our prospects and seeing them as NHL prospects and wanting the Flames to move them. Huge credit to scouts and Coach Ward. Pleasure to work with the kids, we drafted well, kids act like professionals and good people to be around.

On team moving: Personally, he liked the situation so he could fly out an hour and see them play and go home. Very convenient. Now the travel will be more of a burden. City of Abbotsford was unbelievable, fans were friendly and nice. Disappointing it didn't work out. He had a cushy job that way. Hoped more teams would move out West but it didn't happen and made it harder to make the team work in Abbotsford. (Sounds like decision to leave was 50/50 Flames and City of Abbotsford)

On Coach Ward: Canucks looking at Ward as a Coach. He's been great with the guys in Abbotsford. He knows he wants to coach in the NHL and the Flames will support him in that if the opportunity comes up. Easy to work with. If he goes to NHL and it doesn't work out, Flames would be happy to take him back. If he doesn't get an NHL job, Ward will be back next year.

On facing Grand Rapids: GR is experienced and good goaltending. They have talent and skill in the locker room. Hoped series would go longer so they wouldn't get anyone back. First round is toughest round and being best of 5 it's worse.

According to Conroy's interview that just played, the Flames have nothing but praise for Ward. If he doesn't get an NHL job in the offseason (which the Flames would fully support that decision), then he will be back behind the bench of their AHL team.

Most of it is in jest there bud. It's called making light of a dire situation. 2 games down isn't a fun place to be.

Speaking internet sometimes doesn't translate well to the eyes.

We are a go for the 3rd.

Griffins are undefeated when leading after 2 in the regular season. Time to make that record fall boys.

Ward is not the issue here. It's the inexperience of the players.

Couldn't have a better coach behind the bench down there, tbqh.

One bad game doesn't negate one franchise record setting season and prospects under his coaching making the Flames team and contributing immediately.
