I know most of these guys won't make it but I'm still expecting a future Flames team to look like a St Louis with a dozen of its own picks on the team. It would be pretty cool if some of the lineups people are proposing end up half right.
I doubt it. This should likely stoke the fears of the chicken littles who brought it up in the first place. In their minds just having this mentioned in the media lends some level of credibility to their fears, regardless of what the team and player have to say.
that was a clear-cut statement though. You don't do this kind of interview if you really intend to wait to become UFA. It was like "relax, I like it here and I am not Schultz". Don't know how anyone could still be nervous after a clear-cut statement like that.
On a different note, it really seems like Johnny worked out hard:
Not the tiny player from two years ago. Very good sign.

There will be a lot more pressure on him to sign next year I think..
Feaster is going to try, but it sounds like he's at least considering going back to BC for his senior season. As long as Feaster doesn't sour the relationship by putting too much pressure on him next year, I'm still confident that he'll become a Flame when he leaves BC whether that's next year or the year after.

As clear cut as it gets. Stop worrying and enjoy the fact we have an insanely good prospect who is smart enough to realize that education + extra size = a good thing

The kid still has looong ways to becoming an NHLer, 82 game grind with small body won't be easy, there's a reason only very few make it. Wish him the best but let's not worry about him signing with us, he should be wanting to sign here.

And universtity really is the best place for a player like him to develop. That system has a great record for developing smaller players that end up becoming NHLers.

Well I'm back at development camp for round 2 this am. Will post my observations when its all wrapped up. I didn't stick around for the pm skate yesterday so I'm looking forward to seeing Janko for the first time ever.
