Sure Saad did throw a punch, long after the whistle had been blown. Not sure how the official could predict that considering it hadn't happened when the whistle was blown and Chicago had possession, so obviously that was not the reason for the call.
Both guilty indeed.

then the helmet getting knocked off and both players wrestling was the call.
It's not black and white, it's the refs interpretation of the rules and the most important thing is that it occured before the goal.

The Hawks shouldn't have been on the PK so that doesn't matter and the chance should have occurred and goal scored as it was.

Are you trolling?
Quincy's helmet comes off as Saad grabs it to try and stop himself from falling back on the ice.
It was one way roughing, not even close.
Brutal call.

I think the hawks will still win.
Stalberg for the hawks
Abdelkader for the wings

Why does everyone seem to want Chicago to win? The same team that (Iginla I believe it was) said that their bench said things to him that were beyond disrespectful. One of their star players ripped off a taxi driver, and people on here complained about their stupid ass goal horn repeatedly every game.
I don't mind watching, but cheer for Detroit OR the Blackhawks? eff that

Galley and Hrudey are even wondering what Saad got the penalty for and their opinion probably carries more weight than ours. It's a blown call end of story.

My mind is blown by that call. How often is that a penalty for either player, let alone Saad. I don't think I've ever seen a guy penalized for shoving someone into the bench. Definitely never seen a guy get a penalty for being hit. Just madness.

Both players wrestling?
Saad put his hands in the air as Quincey carried him into the bench and slammed him to the ice there was no wrestling from Saad.

That's the thing, it should be and is 99% of the time. It was a bad call, end of story. Saad did nothing to deserve a penalty unless being the victim of a mugging is against the rules now. Detroit did not have possession and the play should not have been blown down. The fact that Saad was given a penalty is rather insane.

Down Goes Brown @DownGoesBrown 51s Can’t believe Stephen Walkom just came out for OT wearing glasses, a blue Cubs hat and big headphones.

I want the Wngs to win just so the Blues pick is one spot lower, so the crappy call is fine with me.
(Also I have Detroit guys in a couple of playoff pools)

Considering the trips and picks they have ignored all series from the Wings yes that is a fine no call.

It's not that I like the Hawks. I would have been upset at the blown call if it was the other way around. It's just so typical that the Wings would be the beneficiary of horrendous judgement by the officials. It's hard to cheer for a team that doesn't deserve to advance.

Because like it or not, Chicago had won the game if not for one of the worst calls ever made in the NHL. Chicago deserves it.
