Trevor starts with tons of cash anyway, ammo is pretty cheap comparatively.
I thought the gun challenges were pretty fun, managed to get enough golds to unlock all the weapons, which for me and my controller impaired aiming must mean they're pretty easy.

Actually, that's exactly what they do. Hilarious when I'm slapping someone around or jacking a car, then looking around and seeing random people recording you with their phones.
I'm still early in the game, spent some time just walking around, crazy how much there is to see and do. The one thing I'm having problems with is the drive by shootings, how do you aim? I was having a heck of a time doing the father/son mission where you have to shoot the guy scrapping with Franklin, I kept shooting and nothing, tried shooting and aiming, nothing.
All in all it's a fantastic game so far, there is just so much to do. No wonder the game is selling like crazy.

Otherwise game is lots of fun, the side missions can be pretty funny, and I'm trying to take the main story slow, it's so great. Totally feel bad for Micheal, hope he gets redemption.

got a 35% return in a few minutes after the mission was over.

Agreed. If you pay attention to the storylines, you could make a tonne of money off the stock market. I sank all my money off that same mission and Franklin has some spending cash
So after seeing some posts I decided to see how bad flying the helicopter really was.
Took the flight school and when I got to the helicopter confirmed that controls appear to be a nightmare.
However, I played the missions over and over (There is two helicopter missions) and after about an hour was flying that thing like a pro. Can't wait to start using it for a mission.
Did the flight school and managed to gold medal every mission quite easily except the helicopter missions. How that first one can even be completed in the gold medal time I have no clue.

Full tilt from the get go, you are pretty always holding R2 to go up, while pushing forward. Took me about 6 tries. (Edit: actually only got Silver)

I've gotten gold in all the shooting challenges so it is possible. You get more points for hitting multiple targets with one shot. You can also move left to right to get a better angle.

But it wasn't points for that one, it was the one where they all drop down from the ceiling at once, and you have to shoot them to get them to retract, so it seems to count each one only once. I cleared them all several times with lots of time left and it still only ever game me 46/48, every time, regardless of how many I hit at once.
Could be just a bug in mine, maybe I'll go back and try again and hit more at once.

Not sure if this is a bug - on PS3 there are some missions where you get the sniper scope, however when I'm in the mission I have no sight / scope at all.. (not even a dot). So I have to freehand snipe. Really challenging This happened to me on the freighter heist.
