I'm not sure what you mean, or maybe you misread my post.
Once Upon a Time seemed pretty good, but all they did was plagiarize fables and deny it, so it sucks.

No I understand, but if they just ripped off Fables (even if they deny it), the show still seems promising to me as I love the comics. Then again, I should watch it to see how badly they ripped it off.

NBC just added a lot more bite to its upcoming roster.
The network has given a 13-episode order to the series "Hannibal," a thriller based on the Thomas Harris novel and "The Silence of the Lambs" predecessor "Red Dragon."
Also read: NBC Picks Up Roseanne Barr Comedy, Two Other Pilots
That's right -- break out the fava beans and chianti, Hannibal Lecter's coming to network TV.
The series, which will feature Lecter and his protege, FBI agent Will Graham, in the beginning stages of their relationship, will be written and executive-produced by "Pushing Daisies" and "Heroes" veteran Bryan Fuller. (Fuller is also executive-producing the network's edgy, dramatic reworking of the classic comedy "The Munsters.")
Martha De Laurentiis -- who produced the Harris-based films "Red Dragon" (the 2002 version), "Hannibal" and "Hannibal Rising," will also executive-produce the series, which comes from Gaumont International Television.
Also added to NBC's acquisitions on Tuesday: The pilot "Notorious," a soapy drama about a female detective who goes undercover among the wealthy family she grew up in -- as the maid's daughter -- to solve the murder of a heiress who was once her best friend.
The pilot, which comes via Universal TV and BermanBraun, is written by Liz Heldens, an alum of the network's recently shelved "Prime Suspect" adaptation. Heldens is also co-producing, along with Gail Berman, Lloyd Braun and Gene Stein.

Anyone watching the new HBO show Luck?
I still think it has good promise, I just can't seem to get attached to any of the characters yet, plus I still have no idea what the character played by Richard Kind does, it seems like he is just there (plus I never understand what the hell he is saying).
The other issue I have is I can never tell which horse is which, especially when they just start a race, all horses look similar to me, so it makes it a lot more difficult to follow what's going on.
I feel like it could be a good show, I'm just not getting hooked yet. Thoughts?

I agree, it's not bad, but disappointing in that I had really high expectations given the producers and actors.
Anyone have insight into why the Pick 6 winners aren't coming forward to collect?
Hopefully it picks up.

I believe they didn't collect right away as they didn't want to get in trouble with the IRS for not paying their taxes in the past. They have collected the money already although it happened off screen so I'm not sure how they got around the IRS issue.

Had its moments, but I was kind of underwhelmed. Early to judge, hope it gets better along the way.

I have built up a backlog of Alcatraz episodes and I'm now finished 4 of 7. OK so far, curious to know more about the big picture of course. I'm not sure it will have legs, as others have already pointed out. It seems like the premise was designed as a framework to hang a lot of episodes off of - so now that the network OKed it, what do we do now? Hopefully the creative people have some good ideas on where to take it.

I'm hooked on Alcatraz now. I watched the last 3 episodes last night to get up to date. I think it is a good show, but it is still missing something that makes it that "everybody must watch this" type of show. Right now what it has going for it is how it leaves you wanting to find out more. Each week you get a bit more information, but not enough to figure out what exactly is going on, not to mention the more questions that each bit of information gives you. It is good enough to get people to check it out, but the need to find out what is happening is what is keeping people to watch. How long can they keep doing this?

Alcatraz is a decent show, but so far it is one dimensional for the most part. Inmate kills, they figure out who it is, inmate kills again, they either put him in the secret prison or he ends up dead. Sure there are a few nuances along the way but not many.
Still like the show but the body count is ridiculous.

Fringe started off this way as well. Monster of the week. It started to develop some story arcs in the second season. I could see Alcatraz doing the same.

The wife and I were talking about this the other day as well. With snipers and guys planting land mines around San Fran it is only so long before they cannot cover this up anymore. I am still not sure how they covered up the guy planting mines everywhere.

Unfortunately it might not have the time since the ratings for Alcatraz has been pretty weak.

The time travel thing - both ways apparently - is a compelling mystery but, as others have noted, they're not helping themselves with out of control snipers gunning down the innocent and landmines blowing up all over the place.
That stuff just doesn't fit on the scale you're seeing. It really does require a more subtle plotline to function.
And the fat guy from Lost is a horrible, distracting actor. Kill him!! Not the beautiful Time Traveller. (Incidentally, she's exactly the face I had long ago pinned on British submarine Captain Karen Halabi in John Birmingham's Axis Of Time series http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weapons_of_Choice ).

Luck ended its first, and now only, season this week and I just watched the finale.
It took me a while to get hooked, but I ended up thoroughly enjoying the show. The finale in particular was gripping. Highly recommended for anyone who likes good character driven shows.
