Anyone know if a jersey cresting sale will happen soon at the fanattic?
Now that Johnny has his #13 I want to get that on my jersey but I remember reading that the flames usually have a jersey cresting sale around the start of the season.
If not I'll just go get it done asap so I can have it soon.

Looking back at the 2011 NHL Draft.
Gaudreau is the highest point per game player in the draft (clearly small sample size of only 26 games), ahead of Nugent Hopkins at the top by .005.
He's ranked as the 19th highest point producer out of that draft thus far.
By the end of the year if all players continue to produce at their current PPG pace, Gaudreau will be the 13th highest scoring player selected in that draft.
By the end of next year if all players continue to produce at their current PPG pace, Gaudreau will be the 8th highest scoring player selected in that draft.
By the end of Two full seasons after this year if all players continue to produce at their current PPG pace, Gaudreau will be the 5th highest scoring player selected in that draft.
I'm guessing in 5 years he NH and Landeskog are at the top. Will he catch those guys? Gaudreau doesn't look like he's found that top gear yet.
Oh and interesting to point out ... the 8th highest PPG player in the draft is Granlund. He will be top 20 in scoring by the end of this year if he produces and plays all the games. 16th by the end of next season.

I can see him finding another gear, once his line mates get used to "expecting the unexpected" they will start converting on many more of those passes and the points will build. Then we can expect him to start putting in more goals as his shooting % is pretty low imo. I can easily see him as more than a point per game player in the coming years as Calgary's youth become more adjusted to the NHL game. The more talent we have in the lineup the less teams will be able to concentrate on shutting him down which should bode well going forward.

His upcoming move that will knock Odell B off the 1v1 pedestal is going to be awesome.

As well as he has been playing with Hudler, Jooris, Monahan etc. I would love to see Johnny play with a pure high-end sniper at some point in his career. Get him that, and his point production will skyrocket. He's Adam Oates still waiting for his Brett Hull.
Same reason why I woud've loved to see him play with Cammalleri for a season.

He looks to me like he has another gear. We're just seeing the beginning of Johnny progressing. His vision and passing ability is incredible now.

Johnny is going to be unreal once he adjusts and gets more experience. I am so glad he worked out exactly as we had hoped when we drafted him and started following him at BC. The sky is the limit for this kid.

We have the players currently ranked at 17th, 19th, and 23rd in total points for players drafted in 2011.

Monahan could be that sniper imo. He seems to always find that sweet spot to get off a quick shot, play those two together in the coming years and it could be a beautiful pairing. Throw in a Granlund(wing) or Poirier and could be magic.

In a redraft I am sure Gaudreau is a high first rounder. Jury is still out, but getting 3 first round caliber players in a draft goes a long way in helping a rebuild (That doesn't include Wotherspoon who is on the cusp).

This. Monnie's goalscoring is underrated. His wrister last night was deadly.

I agree .. I think Monahan could become Gaudreau's shooter. I've told my kid that I think he can pick a spot much smaller than the average NHL shooter, only way to explain his constant scoring on shoot outs without deking. I think the average guy picks a spot in the net the size of a basketball, while he sees a grapefruit.

I think JG ends up on a line with Bennett next year.
Small sample size, but Bennett was the only player I've seen this year who seemed to be able to match JG's vision and pace. I think the two would be deadly, especially if Jooris or Poirier pan out on the right side.

The more I watch him play, the more a comparison to Pat Kane seems appropriate. And more generally, lots about this Calgary team reminds me of the Chicago team that upset Calgary in the playoffs back in 08/09.
If they make the playoffs this year they will be a terror. They will have literally no pressure or expectations. Hartley will have these guys loose and lively.

He stickhandles at high speed a lot like Kane. But Kane (in addition to being a very strong set-up man statistaically) is a deadly finisher, which so far Johnny hasn't really shown much sign of being.

Johnny and Hudler have had a couple of chances where they could've shot, but didn't. I hope that can somewhat change, because they both have had good scoring chances lately and decided to pass instead.

I think guys like Gaudreau and Hudler inspire others to play their best.

Jay Feaster said that the Flames needed the 2011 draft to be a franchise changing draft.
It is certainly looking that way.

I agree. I think Gaudreau is aware that his shot needs work, which is maybe why he elects to pass sometimes when he should be shooting (which ties into what ForeverFlameFan said).
