Well that was fun. I flew back to Calgary from Toronto last night. We landed no problem, but as we were taxiing into the ramp the plane decided to start sliding towards the edge of the ramp and the piles of snow, the pilot quickly hit the left engine thrust reverser and brakes to stop us from going in. Very impressive airmanship on his part, after he got us to the gate he came on the PA and said:

"Folks as you can tell the ground is much more slippery than it looks. Be careful driving out there tonight."

We all got a good laugh out of that, big kudos to our Westjet Captain and crew for keeping us on the ramp!

I had to deliver papers over spring break while my brother was at a track meet in California. Life isn't fair...

Hopefully the sun today melts all the snow on the roads away.

I can only imagine the flooding that is going to happen in the next couple days because of this snow.

Probably. I always have to shake my head when I see people who live in/move to a place called High River and then complain about the flooding.

The current temperature, -1 on weathernetwork is BS. I was outside shovelling in the backyard and sweated my bag off. Not a cloud in the sky.

^The sun shining on you makes a difference to how you perceive the temperature, even if the actual air temperature (probably at the airport) was -1 when they took the hourly measurement.

Gotta be the same in the SE. WX shows 3.2. Snow in the front yard is in the shade and melting.

Depends how quickly the snow pack melts in the foothills. If it does it won't happen till the month of June. Besides you need lots of rain to go with the snow melt for any flooding to happen

What the sam hell happened to the weather?! Two hours ago it was 14 and sunny- Now it's cold with flurries... So windy you can't stand up straight.

Edit- ya ya, I know it's calgary. So much for drinking beer on the patio.
