Not complaining - I get it - but it is sorta an odd thing.

Reminds me of how everyone hated Avatar, yet it made a hundred bazillion dollars at the box office.

I'm thinking this thread should be renamed to "Complain about every aspect of the Walking Dead"
Thats all that seems to be happening here now.

I can't understand how they're always wearing clean clothes, and yet they're killing zombies left and right with blood and goo everywhere. Especially Michonne.

^^ It also look like Abraham got some in his eye. They seem a lot less careful when it comes to the mixing of bodily fluids.

Sasha also slashed his arm as she was carelessly hacking away at the walkers on the bridge when she broke formation.
Once upon a time that would've been a death sentence....

zombie guts on their own never turned anyone on the show yet. wasn't it like episode 2 where they slathered themselves head to toe in zombie goo as camouflage?
as far as I'm concerned, the only thing from a zombie that gives you terminal illness is their teeth.

I thought they had been careful in previous episodes not to get the guts/blood in their mouths or eyes, etc. When they smeared themselves they were careful about it. Maybe they learned that it doesn't matter?
Did the Terminus people to ate Bob's infected leg turn? I forget, but Bob seemed to think they would.

You believe saliva (if that's produced by zombies) or the enamel in their teeth carries the infection? Technically Abraham should probably be infected but I'll just run with Walking Dead logic and blame the writers for being sloppy.

well yes, as senseless as it seems, those appear to be the rules as laid out on the show. otherwise they'd constantly have to worry about every kill being clean and dodging the waves of splatter they create as they mow down zombies by the hundreds every season. if it's lazy writing as in "eh screw it, too complicated to have them worrying about guts all the time", then that's probably a cop out that I can understand from a practical point of view.

They were killed shortly after so it didn't become a player.

Everyone's infected now. Anyone who dies turns. The teeth bites are just apparently so full of bacteria it kills someone, komodo dragon style or something. I think.

Why is the word "Zombie" a taboo on this show?

I read a pretty good explanation that stated the virus remains dormant until a person dies. Therefore when you get bit, you are being exposed to a full blown virus, which then kills you.
Still doesn't explain why some people are okay getting zombie blood into open wounds. That's just lazy writing.

Guys, none of it makes any sense, and it's been that way since season 1.
Remember when they spent a season on a cattle farm and didn't encounter any zombies the whole time?
Remember how they are carrying around a baby?

some people? have there been any instances where someone got infected from blood splatter? it would be lazy writing if they inconsistently had some characters die from zombie gut exposure, and others not be affected at all, but as far as I can remember, you can be bathed in zomblood all day long and not worry. so at the very least I think that's been consistent.

I believe in the Pony Power
|
My biggest plot hole is when they sometimes walk around with zombie guts all over themselves which allows them to escape detection and walk literally side by side with other walkers.
Knowing that they know that - why are they not walking around with that crud splattered all over themselves full time?
Sure its gross but priorities people!

I would imagine it would just smell awful and make you sick wearing it all the time. And the flies.

I think the reason is, it's popular with the masses, which is the easiest part. But it so popular, a lot of those that study the genre of TV, or comics, or writing, cannot deny it's popularity, so tthey're in as well.
Don't get me wrong. It's a better than the average show. But it's still scaled (purposefully or not) to your summer blockbuster crowd. Not your academy crowd. It fails at the high end of everything it does. Comics, writing, heck even action. It's sucking in the dramatic crowd. And then failing. If it was just a usual zombie deal, you wouldn't get that. But it's a beter than average zombie deal.
It's straddling a weird line. Not sure they care though, cause it's setting records.
Critically though, it's not a good show. Well, not great.
