Do people trust Farkas?

I like the thoughtful Farkas that was on the CBC with Nenshi. That person would make a good mayor. I’m unsure if that Farkas actually exists

He doesn't. He's shown on several occasions that he can't help himself from the typical populist BS of his past. It takes more than 4 years to cleanse yourself of Fraser Institustisonalization (that's totally a word, #### you spell check)

Institutionalization is a word.

Institustisonalization is not.

I'm too lazy to actually think about this deeply enough to make sense, but in my mind there is a level of institutionalization within the institutionalization, inception style. Which means another syllable is needed, or something.

LOL

Former Calgary city councillor Joe Magliocca guilty of fraud for falsifying expense claims

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calga...dict-1.7442532

Look at this beauty of a quote about Chu:

Quote:
In the decision issued Monday, Justice Gord Wong also issued a scathing review of sole defence witness Sean Chu's evidence, calling the Ward 4 councillor the "polar opposite" of a credible witness.

IChu is a dickhead, but why would defend Magliocca here? He’s supposed to be conservative, yet he’s cool with stealing tax payer money?

I fail to see what's confusing about this.

I guess I am just like, why? Does he want more people to despise him?

What actions that Chu has taken have led you to believe he doesn't want people to despite him?

I could be convinced, but would have to hear more over a campaign period.

Would be an interesting campaign though - does he disavow his previous supporters and swing to the center/left? Try to court both sides?

Why draw attention to himself though? He should crawl under a rock and stay there.

Chu and Mags were buddies during their council days for sure. That's why.

Also from the article...

Quote:
Wong described Chu as "evasive and defensive" and said he made an "attempt to mislead the court."
"[It was] clear to me he had an agenda other than testifying openly and truthfully," said Wong.
"I have no hesitation when coming to the conclusion that his evidence cannot be accepted."
How can anyone justify this morally bankrupt piece of #### to continue collecting public pay cheques?

Why hasn’t anybody in Ward 4 tried to get a petition going to have him removed like they did with Gondek?

If Wong believes that Chu has an agenda of not testifying truthfully shouldn't the judge/court look at filing some perjury charges?

Chu, the sole defence witness, testified he saw problematic spending by city councillors but never with his friend Magliocca.

I don’t think you’d ever call him left but how about a center right, fact based conservative who doesn’t lay on populist tropes. I hope he can get there but I suspect the funding structures of having the two main PACs that will now be parties will hurt good discourse

There was a fake Russian money honeypot thing allegedly set up by the alleged Wenzel alleged syndicate to entrap Nenshi. Nenshi directed the inquiry or whatever you want to call it to follow proper protocol. But underage rapist Sean Chu of Calgary and convicted fraudster Joe Magliocca of Calgary jumped into the pot with both feet. Its hilarious.

Oh god, I forgot about that Russian fiasco with Chu. How can somebody get away with all of this with zero consequences.
