Would have been great too due to the rumors all being that Jimmy and Jey couldnt be there due to their legal issues.

When you look at the top of the woman's card with Rhea and with Bianca leading the way. Its nice that there are more options then Charlotte, Baylay and Becky.

Rhea's just on her way to mega stardom.

I think and there's been some rumblings about it that Sami and Owens will face the Usos for the titles. The turn on Sami by Jey sets it up.

Honestly that would be the most disatisfying end to the storyline.

Sami didnt turn on Jey, and if its not going to end with Sami beating Roman it should at least end with Sami showing Jey that Roman is the monster using him.

Amazing show! Best in so long. I never watch wrestling live, like ever, but Smackdown and this PPV I watched live and was actually anticipating it like I would in the attitude era.

Exactly. Maybe Sami shows him or Jey realizes himself that Roman dodges the spear instead of taking one for him.

Watched it again today, Roman is telling no lies when he says hes the best in the world

His heel work is incredible, not only talking to sami during the match, but when they were near his wife he was great

Hes so much better as a special attraction too, I dono if he takes a break after wrestlemania or summerslam but when he does this run hes had is absolutely all time

Didn't watch EC, but I think there's a very easy longterm storyline to book here. Gonna pull a Crunch and do some fantasy booking:

1. Cody loses at Mania barely. He becomes obsessed with winning the championship by any means.
2. Roman refuses to give Cody another shot
3. Cody does some teaming up with Sami, maybe even win the tag belts.
4. Cody wins MiTB.
5. Sami wins #1 contender to face Roman at Summerslam
6. Sami beats Roman, but gets his ass whooped
7. Cody cashes in on Sami because he's so obsessed with fulfilling his dream.

Cody would be an instant mega heel with nuclear heat and there are a lot of ways you could go with that. Could have Rollins come back and say he was right about Cody, etc.

I kinda dig it, but I have my doubts that the WWE is going to turn Cody heel anytime soon. He's pretty much a poster boy for the company right now and getting a strong reaction.

However this balances off on a couple of factors. We do know that Roman is going to a part time schedule after Wrestlemania. He is currently the companies biggest heel with nuclear heat right now. Putting him over Sami really helped with that.

So let me modify this in my booking lab.

Have Roman come out and say that the popular sentiment is for him to fight twice at Wrestlemania. Once against Sami and once against Cody, with each belt up for grabs.

But he controls the island of relevancy and that's not going to happen. He suggests that the night one main event is Cody versus Sami with the winner getting the shot on night two. This harkens back to Bret having to fight Owen and then defend his title later.

Now here's where it works for me. You get Heyman heavily involved. He goes to Cody, whispers that because of the reaction to Sami that he's the companies fair haired boy. That the WWE really wants Sami in that main event on night two.

He begins chipping away at Cody, he says that Cody has that right to that title shot. That he has a bloodline of his own that must be respected. Sami wasn't loyal to Roman, he's been a master manipulator forever, that he's not the hero that the WWE needs at the head of its table. Cody is.

We see some slowly developing heat. We have Cody and Sami tagging up against the Uso's maybe, but because Sami can't bring himself to destroy Jay, he costs the team some key victories. Kevin starts getting into Sami's head. Cody is going to screw you to get what he wants.

Meanwhile Heyman really starts to turn up the emotional heat. He's good at it. We don't need to see a lot of Roman. the Wise Man is the star here.

The heat gets bigger, Cody and Sami go from respectful discourse to your trying to take away my destiny discussions This match goes from a straight wrestling match to a Hell in a cell match.

Sami wins, maybe with some help from Owens when the Blood line interferes. Cody loses, he's devestated, and he loses his mind and destroy's Sami.

Now we have a match on wrestlemania night two of Reigns who is fresh against a completely beaten down and injured Sami.

somehow the miracle happens and Sami wins. This clears the way for a few things. Reigns goes to a part time schedule, The Uso's focus the blood line on the tag team division.

On the Monday after wrestlemania. Sami gets him moment. The crowd loves him.

Suddenly we hear Cody's theme and he comes out. With Paul Heyman. Heyman points out that Sami get every advantage. That Kevin Owen's Sami's buddy cost him his legacy, his blood line from getting what he'd worked so hard for, and he demands a title shot in that very ring.

The match has to be brutal. Cody overcome with anger and resentment lays a beat down on Sami, but Sami being the plucky face gets a roll up for a win out of nowhere.

Cody completely snaps, and proceeds to completely beat down Sami, Heyman looks on with concern, (He does this so well) begging Cody to stop. Owens comes out and Cody deals with him to.

At the end we know have the mega heel that Sami is going to need with Roman away. We have a bloodline version 2 with Cody at its head. We can add other workers to it. Austin theory would be a really good ad as he's a pure Heyman guy.

Turning Cody heel is a mistake. Having Cody and Sami both be top level baby faces isn't a bad thing. You can have both, especially if they separate the belts like they're talking about doing.

WWE has had a bad habit in recent years of only having a top face and a top heel and they're usually part-timers. Right now, they have a chance to do something they haven't done since early Ruthless Aggression era, which is have two or three guys who can play at the top of the card and are super over and at every single show, televised or otherwise.

Roll with it. Elevate some heels, get some other people over with them. Let Roman take some much deserved time off.

Edit -

Unrelated to all of that, reading up on the small spat between Tony Khan and Ariel Helwani over the weekend; is there a more perfect encapsulation of how nutty some of the AEW hard core fans are? Social media is just filled with people going loopy as if Ariel had just slapped their mother.

Probably calling Tony basically a coke addict with his snowman comment was out of bounds. Tho we know from different reports that Tony likes to party harty with the boys.

Ohhhhhh dude, don't put that thought in my head.

My hometown has direct flights to two cities, Montreal is one.

It'd have to be at Olympique Stadium. Bell Centre is too small for either.

While everyone on the planet thinks of Wrestlemania as the top show, which it is... Royal Rumble has always been my favourite since I was a kid.

Only thing with Montreal hosting is that Olympique Stadium isn't really by hotels or restaurants or pubs or anything really.

And IMO the bloodline story is ruined.

No longer about taking the belt off Roman.

Now leading towards KO and SZ defeating the bloodline.

Just wasted the hottest face they've had in 10 years for vanilla Cody Freaking Rhodes

He's not wasted and WWE has swerved us with things like this before. Both Kofi and Bryan were in similar positions before they ended up at Wrestlemania winning the belt.

My worry is Cody isn't hated enough for them to make the swap.

Bautista/Orton got boo'd.

I don't think they ever even had an alternative to Kofi for that WM.

The rumors have been that this is trending towards some type of tag team match, and this feels like the way that story is going.

If Cody is also over, then it's a good problem to have. I agree from a story telling perspective it should be Sami. But Sami still being a part of the program through wrestlemania will keep him hot.
