If the dead battery was caused by a dead alternator; which is what the warning was on the dash. You can run a vehicle on a bad alternator for a while; as long as the battery holds out.
My bigger concern would be if deep cycle batteries could start a vehicle. They may not have enough cranking amps.
Once again, in a show about zombies....... here we are debating minor technical issues.

I hope once they enter the new camp everyone is killed off and the next episode starts a-new with a new group in a different scenario.

Apparently the season finale will be 90 minutes, March 29th.

Show is starting to bore me to death, writers can't come up with anything new,the zombies don't scare anyone anymore and with every episode they seem to get easier to kill, may as well throw away the guns and knifes and just sharpen pencils.
Vikings is way more fun than this.

That's kind of the point, they have lived with it for so long now that it's normal.

There is a spinoff coming, it will run parallel to the show.

Yeah the show has shifted some since the first few seasons as the zombies have been marginalized are more of a nuisance and humans are the threat now. It's now more of a survival show than the zombie show it started as. Turning it into a survival drama may ultimately become the downfall of the show unless they can inject better writing and acting. I don't follow the books but some sort of mutation like we see in some games were there's night zombies that are lethal would help creating some tense atmosphere and storylines as how long can they run with the show when it's a matter of going from bad camp of people to another bad camp of people?

I am sure I read that the news show was not a spinoff per se (ie: not crossover of characters), rather it was a parralell show. It takes place in the same time (the zombie apocalypse) but is based in a different part of the country.
edit: yip I was right

In the coming years, AMC will roll out spinoffs to two of its most successful TV series: Better Call Saul (the continuation of the Breaking Bad universe) and an untitled companion to The Walking Dead. While the former will feature a character previously introduced on its predecessor, the Walking Dead spinoff won’t be connected to the current show – other than existing in the same zombie-infested world.

I've never seen a show generate so much interest while complaints at the same time. Maybe LOST the only other one?
Not complaining - I get it - but it is sorta an odd thing.

Both LOST and Walking Dead are similar in that they both started with amazing pilots that generated a ton of interest, but then struggled with consistency after. Both shows had certain episodes which were fantastic, but then followed up with complete filler. It's this yo-yo effect in the show which frustrates people the most IMO, in that for me I keep watching because I'm interested in the overall story but annoyed because they drag it out so much and have very lazy writers who ignore things like basic physics

Both shows appear to also have little in the way of direction and do a poor job self-referencing and obeying their own laws.

If this really happened, how long do you think it would take for the zombies to become a nuisance and other people the threat? I think some of their world has hit extremes, the Gov, Terminus, earlier than would really happen, But I think you would get pretty numb to the walkers pretty fast. You would develop a hyperalertness that would keep you on your toes, but after killing hundreds i can't see it being scary.

Unless you're Tyrese, then you can't hear an 11 year old sneaking up behind you.

At some point you would burn out.
A continual state of alertness can be very very draining.

They're both fiction. One is about a time travelling island and the other is about zombies...it's their game, they make the rules.
It's always been about the struggle, the struggle to keep your humanity in a world turned upside down in the blink of an eye. It's never been about the zombies. You could replace the zombies with talking apes or cyborgs and it's still about the struggle to survive and remain "human".

I think because Zombies have always generated major interest and for a zombie TV series to fail it would have to be downright terrible. The Walking Dead fortunately isn't terrible but if you stripped down the zombie part of the show and were faced with just the acting and writing there's a lot to critique because it's average at best as and night and day compared to Game of Thrones. You do have to give the show some credit as while they make some poor decisions on storylines at times they have also created some dynamite episodes. Complaining on the internet is kind of what we do though wether it be about our favourite sports team, show, movie, car, etc.

For The Walking Dead I thought that was an excellent episode.
Aaron is a strong character and interesting character. That little rant about his mom when Rick was giving him the Apple sauce actually made me laugh, which doesn't happen much with this show. The actor is strong too. Remember he had a video of him doing impressions go viral a stench of time ago. Reminds me of a young Kevin Spacey.
It was nice to see a bit of hope and not just doom and gloom pouting from the group that we're used to. The change of Rick being the lone voice wanting to be a jerk and ultra cautious was welcomed. Let's face it, Rick's an idiot.
It'll be good to see, hopefully, an influx of new characters, because this group is boring and stale. Kill Rick, kill Glenn, I'll be fine with it.
Strong episode, for this show.

Also, the shift in Rick's eyes from on guard and cautious to surprise and hopeful as her heard the children playing was nice. It was a subtle yet poignant moment that rarely happens with the Walking Dead.
