Mang for Laine makes a metric boat load of sense to me. That's a foundation for a deal for sure. Mang is open to change and getting Laine in Calgary helps the PP instantly. Kuzmenko can feed that guy his OV esque one timer for days.
I don't even care if Laine is useful 5v5 honestly . It's just bonus gravy if he came back inspired.

He has potential to add offence on our back end which is needed in today’s game. He was also injured.
Yes giving them a 2nd ? Why?
Mangipane is whatever. It gets them a roster player and gets them cap space now and in free agency when his deal expires.
Again we are rebuilding. We can’t be trading prospect and high picks for projects or broken players.

Well I can tell you he isn’t leaving Toronto until he’s a UFA. He’s got a NMC. His agent isn’t going to let him not ride shotgun with Matthews into his contract year. He’s going to get paid so this isn’t a worry for his camp and he will have all the options.
