It doesn't take 5 minutes to clean up some blood and get a Band-Aid. Should have been done in a minute especially given it was being done by an expert.
Anyway, good run by Leylah.. hopefully it's not a one hit wonder though.

I think Leylah will find some consolation in the 1.25 million she earned as the runner-up.

Lol. Arash Madani is, and always has been, a total loser. He’s just bitter Eric Francis with no personality.

Beautiful speech paying tribute to New York on the anniversary of 9/11.
Could not have represented Canada better.

loved Fernandez's speech. Raducanu was also very charming and seems to be a great kid too.
Tough match, but Raducanu really seemed to have so much more power...Fernandez didn't have a good service gaming going today, unfortunately...sometimes she seemed to go to the wrong side when she had Raducanu running around...
Still an incredible result for her...Hoping Leylah uses this as motivation going forward.
Madani is wrong though...I didn't like the medical time out, but she had a legitimate injury that needed to be attended to. 5 minutes seemed rather long, but if that is what is allowed in the rules...

Poignant remarks from a teenager who wasn't born till a year after 9/11. What a representative for our country.

That, but it's also pretty fricken hard to beat a player that's playing error free tennis, and hit's blue or white paint only. Lots of her shots where she had to stretch out to return, whether it was lobs in the air or low, always stayed in play - kissing the lines. That's why she dismantled everyone on her way.
Wonder if she can maintain this hot play through Indian Wells. Now she has a target on her since everyone on tour she's a legit threat.

oh for sure. Full credit to Raducanu, as she didn't make many errors.
It will be interesting for both players as people won't be taking them lightly from this point forward.
Hoping that Leylah is able avoid injuries which have derailed Bianca to this point

Ugh it sucks. Was so pumped up to see Fernandez capture the title. What an incredible week she had. She did well today though, no reason to hang her head. Battled like always.
As we sit in the sting of the loss today, let’s remember what Bianca accomplished two years ago as the first Canadian major champion. What a performance! Should never be taken for granted.

Heartbroken with the loss, but so so proud of Leylah all tournament. She's got a bright future, hope to see her back in another Slam final. Raducano was so impressive all day, and the MTO was just bad timing with when it was taken, no malice in it at all.
There is only one man who can save the tennis season now.....

I just want to see a better final than the 2021 Aussie final. I will say that Medvedev plays a similar style to Djoker, the question is can the apprentice take down the master?

Madani is a loser and he’s terrible at his job. Every one of his interviews with Jays players is cringe worthy.
Way to make Canadians look bad.
