When teams deal players because of cap issues and the players are not very good they do not get a 1st round pick back. At most for that package Vegas might get their 3rd and Dallas’s 2nd. The trade also does not solve their cap issues so that is another problem with the trade.

I don't mind attempting to get Sharangovichs by dealing 30+ year old pending free agents.
I don't want to trade first round picks in that attempt.

So the Flames, looking for players like Sharangovich, trade for a LD who has twice hit 17 points.
That's daft.
EDIT: Dorofeyev makes it a little more intriguing, but like... why. A Russian who's already played in Vegas the last years is not gonna fall in love with the friggen mountains.
