Is there a piece of wood where McDavid's heart is supposed to be?

I went to the Junos. I think it's hilarious how everyone cans nickleback but you could probably sing every word to their top 5-10 songs.
They were good last night.
I booed Conor though. The weekend also caught huge boos for no showing.

Well of course The Weeknd wasn't going to show up on a Monday. It's right in the name.

This is becoming an annual posting, but I am continuously perplexed at the praise this player gets. I know the media associated with Sportsnet is obligated to carry water for the Oilers, and the rest of the Oilers media are just basement fanatics in disguise, but it is such a disservice to the casual fan that 50% of his game is completely ignored.
Tracking to break the 120-point barrier, yet still outscored. Unquestionably the most overrated player of this generation.

3. For a long time, Leon Draisaitl has had a bit of a reputation for a weaker defensive game. He’s one of the best offensive talents in the world, no question, but he gives a lot back the other way.
This year it’s come to a head with the Oilers allowing 3.4 goals against-per-60 with Draisaitl on the ice and 2.8 expected goals against, both worst among forwards. It’s meant that with Draisaitl on the ice, the Oilers have actually been outscored this year which is never what you want to see from the team’s second-best player. Draisaitl’s impact at both ends of the ice has never been as otherworldly as his production, but this is a new low.

Draisaitl is a fantastic player, but as an opposing fan, when he carries the puck he doesn't put the fear of God into me like McDavid does, like MacKinnon does, like Makar does, like Crosby and Ovechkin did back in the day. He just doesn't.
The only time I worry about Draisaitl is when we're killing a penalty and he's left wide open, because he can shoot the puck and he's elite at it.
But he isn't a top-3 player in the league. He never has been.

Grumpy pants has always been a cheater and a guy that only cares about getting points. No matter how much the media shills in Edmonton try and try to make him out to be a good two-way forward it doesn't change the fact that he's one of the most one dimensional players in the league.

Wasn't the Edmonton media taking about how Draisaitl was one of the best defensive forwards in the league? Like, only a year or two ago?

Tell me you have no taste without saying it.
Just because you're a fanboy it doesn't mean there aren't people that genuinely hate Nickelback and there caproate formula "rock".

In 2021, Draisaitl ranked 13th for the Selke trophy voting. He got three votes.
Mark Spector gave him a second place vote.
Jim Matheson gave him a second place vote.
Charlie O'Connor of the Athletic gave him a 4th place vote.
None of the other 97 voters gave him a vote in the top 5.
