That avatar is the message board equivalent to clown shoes.
This thread is a good reminder, I went to deactivate my Twitter/X account just now, I don't want my email address connected to this garbage. Although I never login or use it I got a message saying I was suspended, I may have logged in twice in the past 2 years. Now I have to wait for my request to be taken care of before I can deactivate.

I do wonder what if any effect it will have on EV infrastructure spending.

That looks fake, but it also looks stupid enough to be real.

He's looking to cut 1/3 of government spending. He's going to cripple his own country and I hope all the people who work in the federal service who voted for him enjoy their future unemployment fantasies.

Yeah, he is just an idiot. He says he wants to cut 2/6.5 trillion but meanwhile defense, interest payments and social security total ~3 trillion so he’s got an uphill climb as it is to hit his target.
Space force you’d think would be cut #1.

More big ones are checking out of Xitter. First NPR, now the Guardian:
Guardian will no longer post on Elon Musk’s X from its official accounts
Quote:
In an announcement to readers, the news organisation said it considered the benefits of being on the platform formerly called Twitter were now outweighed by the negatives, citing the “often disturbing content” found on it.
“We wanted to let readers know that we will no longer post on any official Guardian editorial accounts on the social media site X,” the Guardian said.
The Guardian has more than 80 accounts on X with approximately 27 million followers.
The Guardian said content on the platform about which it had longstanding concerns included far-right conspiracy theories and racism. It added that the site’s coverage of the US presidential election had crystallised its decision.
“This is something we have been considering for a while given the often disturbing content promoted or found on the platform, including far-right conspiracy theories and racism,” it said.

And before anyone says NPR is missing out or damaged their business, here's a reality check for you:

Anyone still using Xitter at this point is a Trump supporter, whether they mentally recognize it or not.

Dumb post is dumb!
That's like me saying anyone still using CP is a closeted Oiler fan, whether they mentally recognize it or not.

Well, no, it’s nothing like that because using CP in no way makes one a fan of the Oilers.
On the other hand, while a bit of a stretch, using Twitter supports Elon Musk (as you’re either offering yourself or your data as the product) which, in turn, supports Trump.
So, yes, dumb post is dumb, but I think there is probably a disconnect over which post “dumb post” actually refers to.

Musk is using Xitter to spread massive amounts of misinformation, and did it to get Trump elected. Using the platform legitimizes that by boosting it's usage numbers. It's not complicated.

He had the same level of enjoyment when he arrived at Twitter and caused absolute chaos. I recommend interested people read Elon Musk written by Walter Isaacson. He covers the chaos well.
Anyone still simping for this hobgoblin gets what's coming to them.

Ah, so Twitter was just the social media playground for bored journalists, and not a place where actual news used to reached real people? Sure, because it’s not like Twitter ever broke major stories, fueled global discussions, or influenced any public opinion. And definitely not like journalists used it to interact directly with readers or make news...you know, accessible to people who don’t hang out on NPR’s homepage 24/7.
Besides, if journalists only lurked there out of habit, then millions of people must have been joining in just to watch them scroll, right? Or maybe Twitter was actually a pretty powerful platform for real-time news and engagement at one time —just a wild guess.
