DC had a plan. It was just very ambitious and different. Snyder had a plan that would have been the Darkseid invasion, the apocalyptic future, and then the Flash altering the timeline.
The DC execs stepped in and squashed that and made an MCU clone. It really seems like the DC execs are hands off and/or just ignore what's going on until the very end. Then they step in and mess everything up. It's like the people beneath them aren't running it by the top guys....or maybe they are, and they are ignoring them.
No...they wanted their expanded universe without putting in the work. Nobody 'steps in' and screws things up this much.
A Goal without a Plan is a 'Wish.'
Superman was the only one who got a standalone movie before the teamup? The Flash still hasnt come out and they basically just tried to pretend Cyborg doesnt exist and theres about 3 Batmen at the moment?
Thats not a plan.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
Where WB went wrong was using Snyder's vision for a connected MCU universe where it should have been more similar to say LOTR. I really think audiences would have been more receptive to his vision if it wasn't used as the groundwork for their connected universe.
They seem to have finally figured out the winning formula for this very simple concept. Put predators in cool points in history and have them battle warriors from that era. So much better than making hybrid mega predators.
Prey was awesome. Looking forward to this.

For being the ultimate alien hunters / weapons or whatever, Predators sure seem to like coming to earth and getting ass-whooped by random humans.
Yeah, and considering they're showing up on space ships with lasers and invisibility armour and such they done appear to be all that particularly good at this whole 'hunting' thing.
Maybe there is some sort of hilarious Galactic Dynamic that we dont know about where the 'Predators' are actually the Galaxy's worst hunters which is why they're relegated to dealing with us.

OR they pick Earth because it has the best challenge presented to them of all the planets they've found.
AND maybe the ass whoopins' are why they keep coming back? Oh Dugner died on Earth to an Aboriginal gal, they've got good warriors there, send Dugner II to avenge his father... etc..
I was also under the impression they're somewhat limited in weapons/tech to make it more of a challenge/prove their worth to their peers?
Either way, Prey was amazing and I definitely welcome the same style of movie shot in the exact same format.

This is my thought as well. Their whole thing is try and prove themselves the top hunter, make sense they would keep trying to prove themselves against dangerous game.

There's a common thread in sci-fi that humans are constantly the biggest danger to the universe because we're unpredictable, over-confident and intelligent (but too stupid to know the outcomes of our intelligence).
How many times have the Federation almost destroyed the universe in Star Trek? In Marvel all the aliens fear Earth because we're too powerful and un-evolved.
Or we're just portrayed as the worst. Like in ET, District 9, Enders Game, etc.
OR they pick Earth because it has the best challenge presented to them of all the planets they've found.

We also probably don't hear about the Predator success stories. A predator showing up to Earth, killing a dozen people easily, and then going home doesn't make for a very interesting movie.
The predators also typically kill many people before they get taken down themselves, so it's not as simple as the predators not being good at what they do. In the first movie, it was one predator against a 7 of the top US soldiers, plus the predator had already killed all sorts of other soldiers and guerillas.
