Honestly, look how many people just in this thread had never heard of it. I hadn't until I stumbled on it years ago and I remember thinking exact same thing.

I think because it originally came out on Cinemax or something they never advertised it?

At least they promoted Warrior, how Banshee just slid under the radar baffles me because damn...thats a good show!

Okay, not a whole ton of A-List actors necessarily who would draw big headlines, but its still really good.

Honestly I found Banshee because I saw Lili Simmons on Hawaii Five-O and wanted to know what else she was in. I saw Banshee on her credits, clicked on it, and thought it looked good.

I'm pretty sure I recommended it on this site way back in the day, too.

You may well have. I genuinely don't even remember how I stumbled on it.

I vaguely recall seeing something like 'Ex-Con poses as small town Sherriff' and thinking..."okay, that sounds ridiculously implausible but neat, lets give that a try!"

And never looked back. Decadent violence.

I'd actually hope that fans of Warrior would go and think just like you did, what else has Tropper done? Banshee? Okay, lets try it.

And yes, theres lots of Lili Simmons in Banshee.

Oh and by the way, when you're watching, maybe keep the IMDB Trivia handy as the opening credits and closing post-scenes usually have a bunch of significance to them.

Banshee first mentioned on page 3 of this thread but I had already watched it. Maybe it was mentioned in v1

I just realized the fourth and final season of My Brilliant Friend started yesterday. I haven't watched any TV this summer except Jon Stewart and John Oliver because everything lately has been disappointing, but this has got me excited.

I doubt anyone shares my love of the show but I'm ####ing stoked to watch. An Italian drama that follows two very different girls growing up and becoming even more different women is right up my alley. So so so so good.

My wife is a huge fan, so I have watched it through osmosis (I'm in the room a lot when it's on and I know the basic story, but haven't seen every moment). It's a pretty interesting story, and it follows them over several eras of their lives. Apparently the books are essential modern literature to read.

So I'm starting E3 of 'Bad Monkey' and so far...its interesting. Vaughn's dry humour just comes off perfectly.

So as I said, I'm on E3 of 'Bad Monkey' and there have been a few genuine LOL moments and Vaughn plays them brilliantly.

Spoiler!

And theres a few more of note, but I'd recommend it.

I followed the herd and binged Banshee. Really good show and they ended it when they should have. The most unusual aspect of the show, for me, was that I ended up liking the main villain - Proctor. It's not often the villain is written and acted in a way which makes a person like them. Maybe that was just me though. Anyway, add a vote to the "highly recommend" group.

I, too, enjoyed Kaos. Looking forward to the next season. Not a revolutionary show, but IMO a fun romp.

I sense that we are teetering on the edge of a classics revival. We're getting references to ancient greek stories really frequently in pop culture.

Proctor was also one of my favourite characters because...I wouldn't call him a 'villain.' I'd label him as an 'Antagonist.'

His character really 'roller-coasters' over the seasons, sometimes you hate him, sometimes you like him. You know what he's about but he has an unshakeable code as well.

Spoiler!

Thats the thing, every character has depth.

Ilium/Olympos is a series of two science fiction novels by Dan Simmons. The events are set in motion by beings who appear to be ancient Greek gods. Like Simmons' earlier series, the Hyperion Cantos, it is a form of "literary science fiction"; it relies heavily on intertextuality, in this case with Homer and Shakespeare as well as references to Marcel Proust's À la recherche du temps perdu (or In Search of Lost Time) and Vladimir Nabokov's novel Ada or Ardor: A Family Chronicle.

Decided to give Industry a try. Thought I would enjoy the parts inside an investment bank but there is so little of that it’s disappointing. Hoping for more in seasons 2 and 3 and a little less soft porn and rampant drug use. I get it already.

Killer soundtrack.

Its funny. I decided to re-watch the Final Season of Game of Thrones.

And theres a line from a prior season that always sticks with me.

"If you think this is going to have a happy ending...you haven't been paying attention."
