I was thinking that this may now be a remake of the original 70s movie and the Tim Burton movie.

The reboot series kind of started at the 3rd/4th films of the original. I would make sense that they would cycle through. Although I think they can do a much better job on the next one than they did with "Beneath the Planet of the Apes."

Edit: Actually after rewatching the trailer...spoilers for the original Beneath the Planet of the Apes:

Spoiler!

Ryan Gosling just oozes charisma. It's really hard for me to not like a film if he's in it. I ain't even guilty.

Yeah no need to feel guilty about enjoying Gosling. He's been great in basically anything he's done all the way back to Remember the Titans and Breaker High. He's hilarious and talented and doesn't seem to take himself or the work too seriously. And a good Canadian to boot.

Love it.
I saw people griping about the CGI quality of the apes when measured against the pre-Disney trilogy, and I just don't see it. The CGI looks top-notch and I'm excited!

Trailer 2 might show a bit too much if you're really waiting for this movie.

I enjoyed that one, too.

we need more disaster movies.
Maybe also more movies where nature takes revenge.

Anyone else remember when those movies were big in the 70's?
I remember The Swarm, Kingdom of the Spiders, and Ants!

Really don't know how I feel about this one. It can't touch Alan Maitland's reading, that'll be for sure:

Rebel Moon full trailer. This makes the whole project seem a lot more sensical. I'm all for a project like this as a streaming option.

I think theres some promise there. I dont know if it'll succeed or suffer due to lack of 'Star Character' power.

These both look painfully mid.

(I restrained myself from saying garbage.. oops said it)

One piggybacking/milking the success of a recent hit that capitalized on nostalgia. Because those studio-expedited follow ups usually go well.
