I think it’s what he decided once he was forced into buying it through his stupidity and how he got foreign money to help fund it. The Saudis are the second largest funder.

If he had a real strategy when purchasing it he would have paid substantially less.

Apparently BlueSky has gained 700,000 users in the past week. Lots of people leaving Twitter.

Bluesky is superior. For one, there's actually content moderation and community reporting that actually works. The next best thing after that is the starter pack feature, which lets you share lists of bluesky users that can be grouped together based on a theme.

Additionally, you can follow topics, and your feed can be filled with contextually relevant tweets that you care about.

So far I'm loving it. And most of my community from Twitter has organically gravitated over there, I didn't have to go seek them out.

Would love to see a bluesky embed feature on CP.

For comparison, Bluesky has 14 million users currently but Twitter has about 368 million users. However, it's not certain how many of those are actual people and not just bots. I would have to guess that a fraction of that total number is actual real people. What's going to be interesting in is watching the numbers change for both platforms over the next 12 months.

I just wish Bluesky would remember the last post I read instead of always going to the top of the feed when loading the app.

Which app are you using? It stays on my last visited tweet on the Android app, and that includes each feed. There's a blue dot on the update button, as well as just pulling down from the top when the refresh is needed.

Android, version 1.93.0. Both my wife and I have this problem. I'm on a Pixel 8 and my wife is on a Galaxy S22.

Yeah but probably only 14 million of those Twitter users aren’t just trolls and other degenerates also. I’m not sure that I want to see all that migrate to BlueSky. And really, it’s only gotten worse over the past month or two.

I think you're referring to closing the app completely? Then yes, I see that behaviour. But I keep it open pretty regularly so it's not a problem in most cases.

I’m curious to know what you thought would be in this thread after reading the title? But for me, it’s not really whining, it’s basically enjoying the schadenfreude of an overconfident moron blowing $44bn and seeing that meltdown in slow motion. I love it.
