NBC and ABC, CBS etc aren't news outlets as far as I am concerned so don't meet the standard criteria. The post apparently wasn't going to cover it anyway, in what may be a sign they no-longer value white house press briefings as being material to their journalism.
Or, they didn't bother to send anyone based on covering his CPAC speech instead.

Quite a while ago, one of my favorite books.
I actually liked it better then most of his other stuff. Maybe the Larry Bond influence made it that way.

CNN's Sara Murray went on air to describe what happened:
We lined up. We were told there was a list ahead of time, which is sort of abnormal, but we put our name on a list. And then when we went to enter, I was blocked by a White House staffer, who said we were not on the list for this gaggle today.
Now, normally, if you were going to do something like this — an extended gaggle, off camera — you would have one person from each news outlet. As you know, we have multiple people from CNN here every day. So, if you're going to do something beyond a pool, which is sort of the smallest group of reporters that then disseminates the information, you would have one person from every news outlet.
That is not what the White House was doing today. What the White House was doing was handpicking the outlets they wanted in for this briefing. So Breitbart, the Washington Times, the One America News Network — news outlets that maybe the White House feels are more favorable were all allowed in, whereas I was blocked from entering, Politico was blocked from entering, the New York Times, the L.A. Times. All of these news outlets were blocked from going to a gaggle.

I mean, it works so predictably.
No one is talking about the white house potentially breaking the law by interfering with an ongoing FBI investigation INTO the administration.
The media is talking about themselves.
Way to go, journalists.

The best part of the Daily Mail getting blocked from the White House is it's US editor is Piers Morgan, aka the biggest Trump ass kisser currently living. All that ass kissing didn't seem to help much.

It's amazing that Trump is discrediting and ignorantly striking at American companies, calling them 'fake news' outlets when he spews fake news everywhere he goes.
How is he not being called out on this stuff more?

I'll be doing no U.S. trips any time soon and we're regulars. I'd love to see how this affects U.S. travel numbers.

Yeah work had discussions about it and we've decided to limit travel to the US as much as possible. More then one guy said straight up they dont want to go at all.

Really? Then what are they? They have news divisions bigger than almost every newspaper publication around, and reach larger audiences. I'm really curious what you call them.

It doesn't matter that Trump be called out on this or not, go to The Hill or even WaPo or NYT and read the comments on a story about some being blocked. Trump supporters are convinced it's a good move, they know CNN and NYT and anyone else blocked are making news up out of thin air to go against Trump.
Calling him out won't accomplish much other than preaching to the choir.
It's like arguing with creationists, if someone says something bad about Trump they're by definition lying.

Is this because you want to not support the Trump administration policies or is it because you have a higher level of fear about something bad happening while you are there?

Anyone familiar with US political history: is there any precedent for this type of action?
