Pretty much why I’m almost done with hockey. The league has it’s darlings. Always has. For Christ sakes the national media ran pieces on ´the code ´ and Tkachuk having to answer the bell this hit won’t even get a mention.

It doesn’t even matter what I think. I’m not going to change your mind. He’s fresh off a broken hand from fighting a guy bigger then him. I didn’t even think the hit was that bad. Touch from behind but still shoulder to shoulder and wasn’t near the boards. Hitting a guy in numbers 2 feet from the board has way more potential for injury and we see it all the time not being called. If Lowry would have just grabbed him and started swinging he wouldn’t have just covered like a little girl though. Tbh not sure why he even asked.
But according to Oiler logic, if you can't back up a hit with your fists then you shouldn't be hitting.
And more oiler logic. The back of your shoulder is somehow not your back and therefore not hitting from behind. Got him right in the shoulder blades, clean hit!

Bear got boarded from behind worse than that Kassian hit. Not a mention obviously.
Kassian wasn’t going to fight because he just came back from his broken hand. Bieksa was right that they gave him a pass for it.
If that’s the case, the big stupid oaf shouldn’t be making marginal hits on skill players. Do you know what a double standard is? Do you know what a hypocrite is? Look it up Weitz!!

Ok so a clean hit from Kassian and he doesn't need to answer for it because he just recovered from a broken hand. But he's playing sooooo it must be healed?
Chucky makes two clean hits on Kassian and has to answer despite being a far superior player.
Makes total sense.

Then he shouldn't be throwing garbage cheap shots. But he just can't help it, he's a gutless spot picking cheap shot artist.
Since he can't fight, and cried off the Jets should have gone hard after McDavid and Draisaitl. Since Kassian you know can't fight.
Kassian was suspended a year ago for 7 games, that was his fourth suspension, I believe two of them were for major cheap shots. The league needs to throw the book at the coward.
Or the next time the Jets play the Oilers they should run every good player on the Oilers through the boards.
