Seeing the combine interview with Tij I want him more than ever. He’s going to be a star. He’s going to be the best player in this draft.

Little Iggy should be pulling a Lindros right now and telling all other teams he will never wear their jersey. Calgary or bust.

If lindstrom somehow falls to 7 , I really hope flames can move up to get him.
Not surprised that market for mangiapane is soft.
Also not surprised that devils haven’t offered up 10 oa for Markstrom yet. Fitz seemed pretty stubborn talking about goalie market value after deadline. I doubt that has changed much.

Why should he do that?

It's not even what Lindros did. He just didn't want to play in QC.

Plus, Tij has never indictaed he has an affinity for Calgary. Apparently he likes the Oilers and I'd expect he likes the Bruins as well.

I remember you sharing some trade rumors previously. Are you able to share anything?. Not about Iginla just in general. Thanks

He shouldn’t. It was wishful thinking from this Flames fan that wants Tij.

Only thing I’d be able to share is that the Flames would love another pick in the 10-15 range if possible, specifically to target Yakemchuk who they are extremely high on. Personally, I also think he is getting very underrated in this draft due to him being one of the older prospects.

Yak, then whos left of tij, catton, lindstrom or helenius. Bedouin with the 28 pick.

That looks alright to me.

If Flames have a choice between Catton and Yakemchuk, who do they take?

Guessing it depends if they think they can get back into the 10-15 range. If they can it would likely be Catton at 9, and then Yakemchuk with the next pick.

If they can’t move up I’m not sure they wouldn’t take Yakemchuk over Catton, which I personally don’t like.

I think yak. He brings a huge skillset to the table. Catton to me is top six or bust may be the deciding factor

Not so sure about best player in this draft but I would take odds of him being a top 3 best player for the team who gets him within 5 years.

He's as close to a can't miss in this draft as you can get.

What could go wrong with the Flames picking a Hitmen 9OA?

Kidding. I’d be happy with Yakumchuk. He’ll be great on the radio.

What about the choice between Yakemchuk and Parekh?

I would be pretty upset if they didn't go with Parekh.

Not me. Yak is being criminally underrated.

So the Flames are going to have 20m in cap before any trade and 4 players to sign. That's pretty good to do some cap eating.

Yakemchuk is an older kid and I'd be concerned about his skill translating. He has a size and reach advantage in junior that allows for some sick looking dangles, but those advantages disappear at the NHL level. I'm not sure those impressive dangles are going to happen against men his size and guys that play at a higher tempo. His shot doesn't look that great and he seems to have some challenges with positioning and playing on the defensive side of the puck. Seems a risky pick.
