Cleaning, specifically wiping/dusting, etc. I'm sooo bad at it. Got the parents coming in later today for the holidays so I've been cleaning the past couple days. All tidy, now just cleaning mirrors & stuff. Lots of mirrors at my place, I spent almost 15 minutes on one section of them, and I swear it looks even worse and more smudgey than it did before I even started...I was better off not doing them at all lol.
Just frustrating because I know I'm gonna get chirped about it like I didn't even bother doing a good clean for them. I did, I just suck at it! I don't get what I'm doing wrong..

I find it awesome that you know your parents will chirp you about how well you cleaned.

The hunk of lard goes on the inside(your hand side) of the paper towel so it bleeds through evenly. You aren't just mashing lard on the mirror without bleed through, are you?

This stuff works way better than Windex and is commonly available (there are better glass cleaners but you have to go to a specialty shop)

Honestly I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I seem to just be moving the smudges around, rather than getting rid of it lol. The science is apparently beyond me...

malls during Christmas season
a true test of sanity, as you contend with kiosk people offering you ****, infants wailing, contentious parking, lines with inexplicably understaffed checkouts, and bare shelves (for desirable items). this year is the black ice edition
I've been too busy to do it sooner, but now more family is flying in last minute, so I have to huff it out there into the churning vortex of retail hell to extract some acceptably thoughtful gifts
I'm hoping a pre-shopping beer, air pods and a solid plan will take the edge off one of the worst annual experiences

I haven't been to a mall at Christmas in probably 10 years, and you do it every year? Up your game, man. The world has changed. I get the last minute thing, but you go every year? Malls suck. This is well known.

If they’re really dirty it could be best to wash with just soap and water first to get off any grime and such, and then window cleaner to clean away streaks and such.

My Christmas shopping is tacked by Mastermind Toys and Amazon online, Dollar Tree and London Drugs in person. Never will I enter a mall in December.

Not defending trucks but I have noticed that some new cars have ridiculous headlights that seem to be aimed poorly and are blinding. A new honda civic last night had obnoxious headlights.

I feel like this has been said countless times, but God damn covid.
Last year I got covid and tested positive on boxing day. This week a co worker I was directly with got it (and his whole family, everyone's sick but ok) this morning. If I'm sick for two years in a row on xmas holidays I'll be choked. Not at my coworker (he did everything right) but just at the situation. Now I have to quarantine from my wife, last year we didn't quarantine from each other but she's pregnant so that's a big no go now. #### sakes. I'm really quite pissed off.

I actually tried to order as little as possible online this year. I know it’s more effort and kind of irritating. But for me, I didn’t feel like I was getting enough Christmas ambiance and experience by just clicking and waiting for the boxes to arrive. It’s just not the same, and became me just spending money.
