Improvement comes through peaks and valleys. Expect there to be rounds where you think things are coming together, then a series of rounds where you wonder where your golf swing went. Don't let the highs and lows get to you. Golf is a grinder's sport, so treat your game improvement in that same fashion. Keep working and stay in your shot. You can't get back swings you've already made and you can't hit shots that come after the one you're standing over. Plan for those future shots, but focus on hitting the one you're standing over as pure as you can. Success will follow.

What garmin device do you have. I have a fenix 3. While it will give me yardages to the front, middle and back of green and allow me to keep my score, it will not track golf as an activity for me.

To have golf show up I need to create a manual activity and enter in the data. Another guy I know has a fenix 6 and his golf feeds over to strava.

Annoying, but I guess that is what you get when your watch is -3 old.

I tried searching google about getting a new course to garmin and could not find a good answer.

After some searching I found where you request an garmin course update

I have a Garmin fenix 5 plus saphire and a Garmin fenix 6 pro. Both update the courses, give yardage and keep score. I had a fenix 3 and it was annoying how you had to download the courses.

Played Speargrass this past afternoon. Course is still in awesome shape given the lack of rain this summer. We played in 3 1/2 hours as the groups ahead of us were moving quickly.

As usual the last 3 holes destroyed a good golf game and I finished with a 98

My playing partner shot a 67 last night. Guy lipped out of probably 4 other birdie attempts so he could have easily shot a 63. Beat his previous PB by a stroke, so he was pretty happy.

It was really fun to watch someone that good make shots like he did to go that low.

In Edmonton this week. Played The Ranch yesterday and Belvedere G&CC today. I hadn't played Belvedere before. Nice track.

i golfed with my boss yesterday afternoon at sun catcher (serenity). the guy golfs 5 times per year and i believe he fished +6 or so from the blues. Every time he got into trouble, he was able to hit a terrific recovery shot.

it was disgusting.

it was also a great september afternoon to golf as we got around 18 in 3 hours

Every time I drove past Belvedere as a kid I always thought it looked like a nice course.

About 6 months ago, both my kids (13 and 15) decided to quit their travel sports (baseball and soccer) they've been playing for years, and go all in on golf. At first I was apprehensive about it being a good idea, but we are all loving it so far. The kids are way more into practicing when it is on their terms and have been putting about 50 hours a week into playing a practicing with goals of making the high school team next year. The younger is pretty natural and has been playing in some youth tournaments. No more parents bitching about playing time and trying to impress and manipulate coaches. I am playing golf with them instead of driving all around the city for practices. I wish they had decided that years ago!

Anyone on here have a personal launch monitor?

I'm leaning towards the Rapsodo, it looks to be the best at the price point. Ideally, I'd get a Mevo+, but don't want to spend that kind of cash.

We were starting to look into the new Garmin r10. Reviews seem pretty good on it for that price range.

Same here - i'm hoping to keep it on the DL so I can actually get one when it gets released in Canada.

Hopefully this unit is better than the G80 which is barely useful

That is the great thing about a kid playing a sport like golf is that there is little room for subjectivity - you want to be on this team - shoot the lowest score.

While I enjoy golfing with my wife and sun, I always choke at the $200 touch for green fees

New personal best today. Went to the driving range in the morning and then teed off early afternoon. Last best was 83, this was an 80 with a sloped 8 footer that edged out on 18, just missing the 79. Oh well.

The worst part about shooting a pb late in the season is that the off season feels even longer. Also, it's hard to keep expectations in check when the new golf season finally rolls around.
