Of course now, even though I hate it, time for a 21 minute dump between sets. Might as well go down pooping.

This match appears over.
I guess it will become another learning moment. Great tournament by him to this point.

It is genuinely hilarious though that two years removed from being booed and hated that Medvedev is going to be a strong crowd favorite in the final, regardless of opponent.

Seems to me Emma is being favored in betting odds vs. Leylah? Why, who did she beat compared to Leylah?

Are people really going to cheer hard against Novak to get the slam? I mean... come on. If he wins, you can say you were there.

It's really too bad. But I think he invested so much mentally in trying to close that set out that he crashed when it went awry.
Felix played some of the best tennis I've ever seen him play in 19 of the first 22 games of this match and it wasn't enough to take a set against a scary level of Medvedev.

It's all the Brits putting their money down on Emma that is moving the line.

Think it's because she hasn't dropped a set during her whole time in New York so far. Plus she had a run in Wimbledon that was cut short due to injury. So lots of confidence in her betting wise.

Not really a matter of who she beat, just how decisively she's beating them.

Of course they are, they've shown irrational hatred of Novak for years, history doesn't matter to a crowd who will mostly be Fed fans, Nadal fans, or Murica fans.

Her draw was much easier, but she also dealt with those players much more easily. Additionally, Emma has been getting better odds than Leylah throughout, which I assume has to do with betting trends.
I think Emma actually is the better bet, though. Leylah gets a lot of balls back in and can extend rallies until she can set up her forehand, but Emma's backhand is clearly better and her serve is better as well. Her first step is lightning quick, so drop shots aren't a great play. You can't rely on her to gift you points as she doesn't seem to make many UEs, and her return of the second serve has looked outstanding - she was smashing those 2nd serves back right at Sakkari's feet. Leylah is a good matchup for her. So I would agree with her being favoured.

Nice hold to start off the 3rd. If Felix can find a way to get this set it would still go a long way for continuing to build his game.
