I saw very little of her in the 4 years. She seemed to be spectacularly uncomfortable in the white house. Don't worry though Looch, I doubt if she sticks with Trump for very long, and she'll probably come out of this thing in tremendous shape if she divorces Trump. Book deals, interviews, probably a hefty alimony.
I didn't see her as a pompous b%%% I saw her as nothing.

Can Obama serve as Secretary of State or a cabinet position? I think his global appeal would serve well to heal some of the international fractures.

I’m actually thinking now that he does nothing. He’ll spend the next two months complaining and launching frivolous lawsuits and abusing government/courts to spin his personal narrative.
I genuinely don’t think he’ll have time (nor care) to actually DO anything to the country.

No. All Cabinet Secretaries are in the line of succession to become president, and since Obama is ineligible to become president again, he is thus ineligible to serve in Biden's cabinet. He could be appointed to a "special advisor" role or named Ambassador to the UN or something, though.

Obama’s done his time. Let him go free now.

I'm like 95% sure this is wrong. If it turned out the Presidency was going to fall to him under the line of succession, I'm pretty sure they'd just skip over him.
In other words, he's barred from becoming President, through election or otherwise. There's no actual restriction on who can be in the cabinet.

Do you believe there was any democratic candidate that would stand a better chance of building consensus with Mitch McConnell?

Yeah it's a 5 second Google job to easily prove Obama could indeed serve.
Quote:
There is nothing in the US Constitution that prohibits a former president [even a 2 term prez] from serving as a cabinet member. In fact, there is no mention of a cabinet in the US Constitution. What’s more, you don’t need to be a US Citizen to serve as a cabinet member. All Obama would need is an appointment from the sitting president and a Senate confirmation.
