For me, it's not just Dickey, it's that Russell Martin who in my opinion is a big spark for the Jays roster and provides timely hitting is also not in the lineup.

Upton and Carrera have worse splits (career and this season) against righties. Also Barney in for Tulo? Strange.
The only way I can explain it is that they want to rest some guys (Saunders/Tulo) and want to be extra careful with Bautista's foot (no fielding).

It's a day game after a night game. That's always the time teams like to rest older players who have had injury issues in the past like Saunders and Tulo.

Can you please give it a rest. Gibby doesn't read this and you have made your point ad nauseam. My god you are a negative fan.

With Dickey comes Thole as well, who is the same or worse than a pitcher batting.
I'm not even sure why they need Thole catching Dickey. It's not like he does a good job. I know why they don't want Martin catching Dickey (injury and frustration), but any backup catcher in the league could probably go in there and do what Thole is doing. It's not like he's doing a good job of blocking balls or keeping them in front of him.

If we can get to their bullpen quickly, we can still be in this.

Rosales was right to try for that one. It wasn't going to go foul, despite what Devlin thought.

Celebrated Square Root Day

Too bad Gibbons left Dickey in for a little more damage when it was clear he didn't have it today. Could have been 5-4 right now.

Not much Gibby can do there. The bullpen is taxed from last night, and he needs to keep them somewhat in tact for the Baltimore series.
