That was a really difficult time for me. The puck helped me make it through. Locke was always cool.
I am wise beyond my years....yes...yes...lets go with that...

Hogan's Real American intro in the 80s will never be replicated. Ever.

I've just passed that point in my life where I've lived more days in the 21st century than I did in the 20th Century. Which in a way suprised me as 2000 felt like it was a long ways off for a lot of my life...now I'm thinking that was 25 years ago already?

Well...for a purportedly harmless 'Random Thoughts' thread its really brought the crushing realism of mortality to the forefront....

"So...when are you shuffling off this Moral Coil?"

I looked in my DMs and found the rockstar guy.

I’ve never deleted my DMs.

I used to use it, but kept getting psyched out by the CPHL posts.

Some headline like "crosby traded for Makar and a first" would pop, I'd spit out my drink, and then realize that was pretend and be annoyed.

I'm watching a Korean movie and there's a scene where people are posing for a photo and instead of "cheese" the photographer tells everyone to say "kimchi".

I found that rather delightful.

What’s the corresponding word in Japanese? That’s where we’ll be going.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Say_cheese

Japan: "Sei, No..." ("Ready, Set..."). Also チーズ (chīzu), meaning "cheese", is used.

At my age a few years is a lot of time! Especially when it makes me more conscious of my own mortality, which can further emphasize the importance of each passing year for me

Mom messaged me to let me know her younger sister lost her battle against cancer last night in Hong Kong. I had just left her a voice note on Whatsapp last night, telling her to continue her fight because I needed her to be ready and recovered to go around Hong Kong with me and her other sisters and check out all the new food I've marked down for us to try when I arrive in April, like we did in 2018, the last time I was there.

She was an awesome aunt and one of the ones I was closest to ever since my mom started bringing me back to HK every other summer as a young boy. Treated me like her own, which is why I'd always hang out with her and some of the other aunts any time I was back in HK as an adult, even though my mom wouldn't be there with me. My cousins will be devastated. RIP.
