By the time McDavid’s speed declines to the point that he’s not at an advantage over everyone on the ice, I dunno, around 31, I’m sure he’ll have enough of a book on the entire league to be ridiculously effective.
Kassian back in tomorrow. I’d assume he wants to have a go with Ritchie right? I think it’s a step up from Khaira but I think Ritchie will be able to handle Kassian
God, I hope so. Kassian might be the most easily distracted player in the game.

What's he going to do stare psychotically at his skate blades. The guy is a gutless spot picking, back biting cheap shot artist. There's not a hit where he's not leaving his feet. Against Tkatchuk for all of the Oiler fan's loser whining about him not answering the bell, Kassian attacked him from behind like the piece of garbage that he is. For all of his tough guy psycho staring antics, he's a coward. last year after Kassian and Tkachuk threw down, Kassian skated by the Flames bench and I think Rinaldo said "I'm next" and Kassian completely deflated and was garbage for the rest of the year.
His team mates know he's gutless, his management probably already regrets giving him that contract, his coach knows that he's a waste of a roster space.
I hope Richie or Lucic skates up to him in the pregame skate and tells him in no certain terms that if he acts up, not only is he going to lose his child hood memories but they'll run McDavid out of the building.
You want to establish yourself on Wednesday, take away the Oilers bench's faith that they're tougher because of Kassian.

There is no way Kassian is going to fight Ritchie. I don't think Nick is as tough as Brett, and here is that fight:
Kassian fighting doesn't scare me. It is his reckless hits. That's what scares me. He is an idiot and will take a bad penalty, which is great, but I fricken hate worrying about him and his reckless head-hunting hits.

My opinion is that Nick Ritchie is as tough as anyone in the league. Brett's not too far behind, if at all. Kassian is a heavyweight who fights like a middleweight.

I fully anticipate Kassian doing something really dumb and reckless and getting himself suspended again. I just hope no one gets seriously injured as result of that jackass losing his cool.
I'm sure they'll want a piece of Ritchie as a rallying point next game, seeing how bad he beat up their man. Hope it's Kassian, so we can laugh at how bad he gets his butt whooped.

Heavyweight that fights like a middleweight would make him the best fighter in the league. Let’s not compliment a guy who has a bit of size and fights south paw.
Was at this game. By 3-0 the arena started to clear out, folks started going home. Most entertaining event(s) of the game after half the building cleared out. Allowed a lot of die-hards in the 300s to come down and get better seats/standing room in the mid-floor/concourse level for what was probably one of the most interesting nights of the year.
Lambert was not prepared for the prowess of Iginla that's for sure.
Pretty sure the kid left on the bench (Hentunen) only played a couple more games in the league after this.. Gilbert probably kept him on the bench for safety - I remember him looking pretty spaced out and in disbelief on the jumbotron. A lot of guys who weren't known scrapper got in tussles - even token ones.
The best coaching decision by Greg Gilbert, waiving Berube to stay on the ice.
I always remember that the best part of that was Lowery intentionally shooting the puck over the glass specifically to make sure Berube could get out of the box. Gold.
