I figured they would stretch it to 6 or 7...still a lot of story.

Interested to see how they cap it.

They damn well better spin off Al Capone into his own series then, he's just going to start hitting his prime when Boardwalk ends

I'd prefer they continue with Luciano and Lansky.

I also hope they continue it off with another character(s) since there's a lot they can still cover.

Spinning off a new series is better than keeping BW going indefinately. BW starts and ends with Nucky and I think Nucky's story should come to an end soon. There are definately more stories to tell on Capone but Capone is Chicago, not Boardwalk AC.

Excited yet sad about the final season, one of the best settings I've ever seen in a TV series. Locations, cars, clothes, all the smallest details, everything is almost perfect. I really hope they spin something off from this

The final 8 episodes begin airing on Sunday, September 7. The season is set in 1931, 7 years after the season 4 finale. Looking at history there are some very interesting things that happened that year.

Hopefully the last season will be as good as season 3, which I felt finally nailed the pacing and had some of the best moments of the series.

I enjoyed the season premiere - really liked the flashbacks to when Nucky was a kid. The time jump between last season's finale and this episode was a little jarring however.

Got to get off this thread as I like to binge watch at least 6 episodes at a time.

Watching the clips from last season at the beginning of the episode, I forgot how many people died last season.

Was there any certain confirmation the the Chalky section was a flashback rather than his current status?

I thought Chalky's section was the current time-line because he had grey hairs.

What made you think it was a flashback? I didn't see it that way at all.

hmm, i thought that first episode was boring.... though i think i felt that way for the start of every season.... Wish they did more on where the series left off at the end of last season, i totally forgot where chalky, nuck's bro, and some of the other streams of plot ended off, as a lot changed at hte end of the last season.

Because the episode was full of flashbacks, and there was no explanation for how Chalky went from free at the end of season 4 to in chains.
